This forum did a poll after a few months on about how much money ppl had, I tried search the forum for previous thread but came up empty. think most came in around 300k-500k with a few in the million mark and 1-2 with multiple millions. was hoping a mod could run a poll pls :D so we can compare. i use to run around 100k-300k, now usually run around 700k-1m. lets see how the economy has progressed. ill keep looking for the first post, i'd really like to see side by side.

I currently have around 1,100,000. That is just from leveling, crafting (a little), fishing, and doing leves. I haven't set a retainer up in the wards to sell anything, and usually just NPC random drops from grinding or save them for when I craft more frequently.

I would have much more, but I quit playing the game so much due to other games (GT5 + steering wheel and these Persona games people on ZAM recommended), holiday stuff, and waiting on seeing the new direction the game takes.

I don't go out of my way to make money other than leves and I don't really buy much gear either. Since day 1 I've slowly been accumulating gil and now I'm up to about 7 mil gil.

After splurging 3 million on gear and +1 fishing rods to last me until R50, I have 2.3 million, with another 300K worth of fish on my retainer. But all I do is fish.

After looking at your job list, yes, I have to agree that all you do is fish. :) It's awesome that you can JUST craft/harvest in this game...

I have 2.2 mil, but that's almost entirely from selling Usagi kabutos when the market was crazy hot and they were going for 300k each.

I spend a small fortune on craft items I cannot yet synthesise or items I cannot yet harvest with any great degree of success. I have only around 100k as a result of my extensive spending. Still, I don't grind guildleves constantly either, so my income is nowhere near that of more dedicated players.

I have 1.8mil, from a combination of shard/crystal selling, botany retainers selling both wood and food stuffs, and selling item drops from Faction leves.

I have stopped selling shards and crystals, as I need them now that I'm focusing on crafting. And I have slowed to a crawl on botany, as it no longer appeals to me.

My only real goal right now is to maintain my gil/shard collection.

Keep gettin close to 4 million then dropping when i buy overpriced gear. Its hard selling items you paid hundreds of thousand to a NPC for a few hundred Gil but space is important.I haven't used the repair NPC in months that was a waste of money.Retainers are for storage only.

I hover between 500k-1m. I like to buy random things and selling them to NPC after I wear them around a bit. I also don't like waiting for repairs, so I use the repair NPC often. Otherwise I'd probably have around 5m by now.

I envy whoever said they have no problem making gil, can I have your gil if you don't want it? I need another 44m gil to plvl to 50.

3,something million. And 2 mules with 100 items and me 70/100. So prolly even after fast npc and selling my previous gear 4-4,5 million should be possible. And thats just mainly from leve's. Doing 20 leve's 5 star 1 day and 30 or 40 leve's next day.

Also all crystals 150+ and 2K+ shards of all. I don't think that SE will manage soon to give any real worth to gil. Yesterday I got a call in town telling me that I shouldn't pay 10k to repair my spear, it was too much... I have a friend that crafts 24/7 and he is already way into 8 digits....

Used to have around 2mil all the time. I'm now hovering around 1 mil due to: gear upgrades, mats for crafting and the reduced gil from leves.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I have a decent supply of crystals and shards.

~37m mainly from gathering. I craft to repair my gear but don't profit on it. I spent so much time in XI chasing gil I'm hoping to get ahead of the curve so I can rest easy when I switch to combat.

so pretty much what i am hearing is money is just a courteous way of exchanging goods, but has no real meaning to it in the long run, for most. how do you think that will affect this mmo? does everyone being able to afford anything pose as a bad thing? or make things boring for you? despite lack of content that is; or do you not even think about it.

I'm cool with it, right now I still keep an eye on my money as it goes up. It's kinda fun. So much opposite of XI where I was constantly struggling to save up for 1 item so I could go broke again and repeat the process on the next one.

I also think it'll work itself out eventually with more things being added to spend money on. And with future combat-related content, maybe less people will be crafting like they do now. Leaving it up to the more dedicated crafters to supply the goods. By that I mean, even people who dislike crafting are doing it now because there's not much else to do and because of the repair issues. Market's flooded with goods & money at the moment...

5.7 Mil at the moment. I have this rule that I cannot buy any armors/weapon but only craft it by myself. Parts are okay but still prefer to be crafted/farmed by myself and therefore I saved more money than Geico does.

The better question is, why don't prices for in-demand items rise with the amount of money available?

I'll never understand the brokenness of MMO economics.

It's kinda funny, because people have so much gil in this game, everyone keeps donating high value items like armor and weapons to me. When I offer to pay, they refuse the payment most of the time. Does this happen to anyone else? Or is it just because I play as a mi'qote wearing hooker boots, and a black subligar?

Part of it is limited inventory space. In the real world if you have an in demand item - even if you don't immediately have space for it is worthwhile to rent a warehouse to store it, etc. In this game people don't have a lot of options for storing things - so they undervalue it on the market in order to move it.

Because even if a ton of people have a ton of money people still are going to buy it for the cheapest price. And even if they have no other choice in the wards they most likely have a linkshell that has people in it who would be willing to make it for cheaper...

there is lots of EQ in the wards under 40K. I actually JUST bought some hemp and cotton stuff - none of it cost more than 10-20K

And you can make 30K off just 1 lucky R20. If you do one reset worth of R20s you should have a 100K. I suck at making money and never have trouble getting over 100K in my pocket when I want it

I'm up to 16m, though I could easily see myself having 30 or 40 if I hadn't stubbornly decided on Goldsmith. I've at least decided not to drop the 50+ mil in electrum needed to take it all the way to 50.. I realize any craft to 50 requires gil, but this is by far the worst choice I could've made.

Over 10m. I've gotten to the point where I rarely even sell stuff in the wards because it's too frustrating w/ how often they crash. I make probably 1-200k every reset just from leves, so there is really no need to actually sell stuff.

I usually have 30K-40K on myself, with the most I've ever had be 70K. Funny part is that I do all my leves and try to get in at least one behest a day. Most of the time my gil goes to buying new armor or the materials to make new weapons, if I can find the glues and other oddities in the recipe that is.

To all those that are making millions upon millions, is that just in a day, or have you saved it over months and months? If that is the case, then how much do you make per day?

No trolling, but really what keeps you DoH guys interested in the game to keep leveling DoH and DoH only? I have tried to keep leveling the crafting and pretty much keep all mine around the same level, but it is really dry for me to continue. If I didn't have a DoW/M I don't honestly think I would stick around. Would love to hear the perks from the other side.

I was mainly botanist and alchemist when game started. I left in beginning of november with 11million from selling dyes and logs. I just came back in the past 2 weeks and spent about 2 mil in updating my gear and playing new jobs. I currently have 10mil left so in the past 2 weeks i guess I made a 1mil back from my 2mil spent.

Edit:

to the person above me asking about DoL not Doh I'm guessing:

I enjoy botany harvesting because it helped my alchemy and carpenter. It's literally getting me all those ranks for free. On top of that I enjoy exploring looking for new grades harvest. I also get excited when you see that high quantity of +3s after a good hit on the tree or grass field. Its relaxing as well. I can almost zone out and do it while watching a movie (just like crafting). Another reason is SE said that DoH and DoL will have much more emphasis on the game in the future then just doing there normal routine. I'm hoping to see implementations into quests where a botanist or crafter is absolutely needed to continue.
