How many people quit from your Ls recently.Follow

In our LS at least 5 people quit last week.

4People i know some who are LS operators are talking about switching to other free to play games like LOTRO or wow.

This game is stagnant, seriously reminding me of Age of Conan, terrible quality game client plauging people who dont like to play when they crash all the time.

What is keeping you playing?

For me Its the people and the crafting and the hope that the game will soon be fixed but I am loosing hope fast. With emergency updates that dont fix anything important and bug reports being wholesale ignored.

I personally reported 9 bugs that are game dibilating via the loadstone and not a single one has been listed on a known issues post. Nor have they been addressed since release.

It seems like the devs are not really listening to us they are just doing what they want when they want it. Noone liked to be deceived but I think I might also go back to LOTRO and cancel my subscription if they continue this facade of listening and their inability to fix any bugs that are of substanance.

You wouldnt be the first one to think this. I've been hearing that its all a facade, just to keep hope alive and keep people playing. Specially since they added that poll, seeing as we've been telling them what we wanted since forever.

On a side note, didnt they merge servers together? Should be easier to get more members now.

Thanks for the useful input, Hyanmen. Always appreciated. :)

The player poll is closed now (i think). Hopefully they use the info to add something that will keep you coming back, cornyboob.

My ls is going strong, more members are added every day. Seem to have about 40 or so active most of the time. WoW isn't F2P btw.

We have lost a quite a few of our members over the last week or so that were active in LS events and 30 and 40 leves. Much like other members here have mentioned though we have taken on new blood (new players as they are all 10 and 20 leve players at the moment.)

Since Rift beta event I am finding myself not playing XIV much anymore (even tho the beta was only for a weekend). I am still logging in and wandering around town daily, but not really getting out to do leves very often or grinding crafts. Its cool and all to take on new people to keep an LS fresh and active, but a few of the people who disappeared were really cool and its just not the same playing without them

I have kind of hit that point too. Between the lack of content, everyone quitting, and the other mmos coming out soon im quickly losing the motivation for this game. SE needs to work some magic fast.

Recently, not many, we've been getting newer members and having older ones return. Back in September-October though, I was losing LS members in droves, almost to the point where the linkshell was completely inactive.

I have pulled strong for this game since day 1, not paying attention to all its faults, but sadly I left for a week without not playing for more than 24 hours since release, and the thing I got most excited about when logging back on for the first time was that I had 52 anima. To me something is wrong with that.

I'm hoping there is a Lodestone announcement within the next 48 hours.

The survey ran its course and it ended Friday. Take the weekend off, Lodestone posters. You earned it. Now let's hear what's going on, please.

I just told my LS about 2 hrs ago that if there isn't an update on Tuesday my faith in this game is going to drop 10% (approx number). I want to give this new director a chance, but the longer they put off divulging their plans, the more I think this was just some song/dance for SE to save face and to keep us hopeful.

I want some action. Now. I don't need a game update this month (though I certainly expect one) but I'd like to see some detailed update schedule on how things are going to be implemented and addressed ASAP.

on topic: It's hard to say who officially quit. Lots of R50s I know have been MIA for a week or two. My other LS is the same as always - in fact someone came back from MIA status. It was a smaller group, though, of people who were pretty set on playing this game good or bad.

The players in my LS are constantly coming-and-going with a few of us that stay intact. However, with the people that leave, there is always new blood coming in to replace them.

There has to be.

We're entering our third week of the year, and we have yet to hear a "state of the union" speech from the dev team. Pretty ridiculous, considering how easy it is to issue a press release and have it translated.

Tell me about it. I expected it to be 1st week and we got slapped with a 2 week survey... ok... well I rode that out kind of disappointed but I understand the need to survey your customers for interest in future content and developments.

Now the survey is over. I want some meat and potatoes, please.
I'm really going to be upset if there's nothing there on Tuesday morning.

Not ragequit upset, but feeling foolish that I thought this director would be different than the same old Tanaka shenanigans.

Just to contrast, XI also changed leadership on the same day (or a couple days apart - too lazy to go check) and they had their outline for the future within 10 days. Now, I realize XI is a different (more successful) animal, but Yoshida can't leave me hanging much longer or all his talk and promises about customer satisfaction is going to be squandered away before he even attempts to do the job.

What's all this talk about leaving when I for one hasn't even started playing "full-time" yet.
I'm sure many feel the same way and just check in every now and the while waiting for stuff to do in XIV.

Square-Enix really seems to go for over the top announcements when they are changing things outside emergency fixes. I know they have a lot riding on this next update as people expect nothing short of a miracle patch and if people want a miracle you can't announce some weak update as they will be clamoring for their blood. They could however have been releasing small tidbits of things they are going to improve and weekly progress updates on how the development team is coming along so at least we know they are going forward in the right direction.

Now they've backed themselves into a corner and unless they come out with some rather sweeping changes (and better be companies too!) then they will lose more of the playerbase and cause even further hopelessness among the faithful. If any of them happen to come across this thread they should take heed that letting us know whats going on a regular basis would do a GREAT deal in regaining the faith of the playerbase, no one likes being kept in the darkSmiley: oyvey

On topic, I actually recruited three new members this weekend to my LS, but I like many others have lost quite a few since CE release

On the survey I had a hard time choosing between:

Faster update schedule
-and-
Increase communication with players from developers

I spent 5 min toiling over this because I think both are INCREDIBLY important.

Though I imagined SE's idea of increased communication meant telling me what they had for lunch and tweeting about their hair cuts and other stupid non-commital JP nonsense rather than really telling us anything useful so I went with faster updates.

I feel like 4x a year (XI schedule) is much too weak for an MMO. XI's development feels like its at a snails pace for me. I typically did everything I wanted to do in a month, continued to log in periodically for scheduled things (like Dynamis/Nyzul/whatever) and then logged off. Wait for more content (read: story missions).

One of my biggest hopes for 14 (and they said it once, but I think they hid it after Tanaka changed his mind) was that it would have more frequent, smaller updates and patches - like WoW was when I started. Then one day Tanaka said it would be quarterly again. Curse him.

The other night I deleted a solid character that often was in or just outside the top 100 of the server. Not the best, but respectable. Leaving a great LS I've been a part of since beta in the process. A sad moment indeed. For me not liking some of what comes with all mmos, I was taking a longshot on this 1. Hoping for an amazing game to help mask those negatives. Instead, I think the systems & flaws in this game further expose the weaknesses of mmos & the mmo community to a whole new level.

So, partly because I'm sick of being strung along, I finally decided that even with a vast amount of improvements there's no way I'd pay a monthly fee for this. Might as well end it now. But like I said, I was taking a longshot with this 1 to begin with. So the game not living up to 'my vision' of an amazing, new mmo is not entirely on the game itself. Not sure if anyone can pull that offSmiley: lol

I know people hate to see posts like this, but it does fit the topic & at least I spared the forums of making my own thread about itSmiley: cool

Much as i love the game (or it's potential anyway) and am trying to stick with it my patience is running out.

They need to announce what they're doing very soon.

It could be my imagination but LL seems more dead the last few days on my server.

If you d/c while trying to quit your guild, you have to wait 36 hours to try again.

And no matter how many guilds you quit, you will never get the marks you are after.

Why exactly would that make you smile?
Do you want to see this game die?
If so then why play it?
More to the point... why follow the forums?

These are serious questions and not meant to flame the poster, I'm just curious that's all.

:( You made me sad, anyways I decided to take a break from it too, only to pop in when there's a major update and see if its worth the time again. Not sure if I want to deleted my toon since I put so much **** time into it. Alot of negatives its true and the only use for gil right now is to buy stuff to grind even more... Yet all I've been doing for 3 months is grind over and over and over again. To be fair, I also found WoW to be as lackluster as FFXIV since it's run from point A to point B to do same thing and I got bored of it after a week and had to quit. The gfx on it was ugly as sin, at least in FFXIV the Miqo'tes are just absolutely hot and visually appealing in every single aspect.

Sorry this is slightly off topic but I found something interesting...

I was curious how much web traffic the lodestone and main ffxiv site has been receiving lately. There is a company called Alexa that tracks this information. If you go to the url below you'll see the history for finalfantasyxiv.com (and lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com):
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/finalfantasyxiv.com#

I knew there would be a downward trend but was slightly surprised to see how large it is. Over the last 3 months traffic has dropped by over 30% and over the last 7 days it has dropped by 40%. I hope SE can turn things around because I really enjoy this game.

The more I have to wait on yet another "Miracle update" to only get searched wards the more I think that I dont want to pay a monthly fee for this game. The more I look at other options for MMOs the more I realize Id pay THEM for THEIR game and not FFXIV. Come friday I play to preorder one of them and try out the beta... If there is nothing vastly sweeping about FFXIV by March 1, thats gonna be it for me.
