So, I played FFXIV for 2 days now and took the decision to reset (make a new char) and choose a surname so everyone that's starting with me will have the same surname =]

The thing is, ideas? We did play FFXI together, so I was thinking of something FFXI related, but didn't come up with anything ... satisfying.

Any good suggestions? ^^

I was unoriginal and stole mine from a character I like.

If you're all a fan of a book, TV, movie, or anime character, you could steal that.

If they all came from Bismark server, that would make sense, since SE let you kep your XI name with your server name in XI as a surname in XIV.

I didn't wanna be Mikhalia Carbuncle though.

Could make your surname after something you're interested in as well. My server has quite a few Belmonts for all the Castlevania fans. I know one person pretty much named themselves after a Darkstalkers character.

I would say just choose something short and/or not too difficult to spell

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

Same here, albeit indirectly. My surname in open beta was 'Propioception', but a few people suggested I shortened it for ease of use...

Of course, this was before the CTRL+R feature was introduced ^^

There's lots of options when choosing a surname. I went the entirely nerdy route of rifling through a book full of words from some Tolkien elvish languages. I've always used Lomelindi, Ithildin just fit nicely. Be forewarned.. if you're anything like me this option can be overwhelming in the amount of neat words you turn up and it can take a really long time to decide :c

Some XI NMs make up some pretty good last names imo and you have quite a selection considering there is a freakin' **** load of them.

My fiance and I were married in XI, and decided to have the same last name here. He chose to be Roegadyn and wanted something that sounded right with the race. So he chose Uhl'rahzi. I liked it so we kept it. Well, as best we could. lol

Same first names from XI though.

Bellock Uhlrahzi
Nekovivie Uhlrahzi
