Do they address FFXIV at all?

New in Release 266.58
Performance

* Increases performance for GeForce 400 Series GPUs in several PC games vs. the latest Release 260 drivers.
* Improves performance in Final Fantasy XI on GeForce 400 Series GPUs.

Here's what they said about FF in general - I am thinking FFXI is a typo and they meant FFXIV.

No, they really did mean XI. Performance with FFXI and the 400-500 series cards was absurd -- 2 to 5 fps on even the mightiest machines with more than a few people onscreen. It took them NINE months to fix!! I can only hope that 8 years from now, we will not be in the same boat, struggling to run XIV with its untouched-for-years DX9 engine on windows10.

What does that "vs. the lates Release 260 drivers" mean? Does it mean they increased performance even more for all the games that theirs performance ware increased in previous 206 drivers? I believe FFXIV was on the list, and if that's right then you know ^.^

Ah ok never mind that, first it's for GeForce 400 so I'm not interested not having that card... and second i read the release info on nvidia site. I don't see anything like

There's a few hundred post thread on the nvidia forums about subpar XI performance since the release of the GTX4xx cards. They're just now releasing a fix, that btw was mostly troubleshot and such by the community and a single member of the nvidia team from what I can tell.

Hey thanks! I saw this was in beta the other week, i was waiting for the production release.

One major difference for FFXIV here

260.99

266.58

3D worked very well on 260.99, but now its "offical" and maybe some other 3D gamers out there will try FFXIV F2P just for the effect (and **** of it).
I'm about to fire up FFXIV 3D first time since the driver update; finally a reason to log on!

On a side note, for those with GX470s with the blue screen problem tied to the sound throughput to HDMI...Nvidia HD sound thing (see this link http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?&m=586183&mpage=1)...

The beta drivers that were released a couple weeks ago seems to have fixed this for me.

Hmm i think the game is running differently on the new drivers i mean the FFXIV, at last for me... well... that's what i believe cuss i don't have any solid proof as of yet and need some investigation... also i noticed that those drivers repaired the shadow glitch that myself as well as some other people expenrienced, the shadows are smooth as baby a** right now :3
