So I reactivated my account and was horrified by the lack of people I actually ran in to. Rank 5, 10, and 20 camps were completely abandoned. Limsa was a ghost town, there was 5, 5 total people in the adventurers room. The market wards are barren (but hey I can actually easily keep track of which ones I viewed now haha). While doing my leve's and traversing the lands I only ran in to the likes of Hagerio Kashtuki, Kimsa Yomigoshi, Seeji Pomnsie, not one English named character to be found except for wait for it.... Ice Milk......

I had two linkshells on my character before I stopped sometime back in October both are devoid of any other people logged in. The only up shot to this I saw was that prices for gear I thought would be expensive were actually quite reasonable, and I had amassed a ton of gil from leveling leather working before the masses. I will be traveling to Uldah, and Gridania later today in search of more refugees. Is there a new location where people like to hang out? Perhaps I need to look at rank 30 camps? Where is everyone ahhhhhhhhhhh?!!!!!!!!!

Are you on a low populated server? Did you go on during off peak hours?

Also most players are post rank 20 and in Ul'dah now since the main storyline quests converge there.

I'm on Selbina and it's booming! My linkshell is growing daily and exponentially.

Using my character's surname as an example, a Japanese character name does not always imply Japanese player.

For that matter, using my actual last name as an example, a French last name does not necessarily imply that I have any French in me at all (my father's father's father's mother remarried and my father's father's father's last name was changed)

I'm Russian/German/Polish/Italian with a French last name. But I digress.

The population on almost all servers seems to have dropped nearly 80%.

On Istory we used to see up to 2k online, then it dropped to 1200, and then right before they took away our ability to see how many players were online, we were seeing 600 or less (at times, 250).

Grouping outside of your linkshell is almost nonexistent except for Behest and everyones out soloing Doblyns and Coblyns.

There are a few people who -really- --love-- attention always trying to parade themselves on our server as if they're running for high school prom queen, but other then that the communication is pretty much limited to people asking repairs.

Best thing you can do is join a high pop social linkshell, all servers should have at least one LS with 40+ active members (even if they are all below 40 sometimes just having people to talk to keeps you playing).

I know our linkshell still has a good 25 members online at almost all times and we're doing alright, but I know a lot of other LSs have either merged or disbanded due to low population. Just state of the game.

Mikhalia you are correct, but I don't think this applies to the majority of Japanese names I have seen (they don't talk much in /say /shout either ; ;).

I'm going to take some pictures of me going around the area's and hopefully Uldah will bring the social interaction I seek.

I really had hoped to run across Olorinus the vile! Sadly I just saw the other thread though, ughh...

Also, why don't you log in we are on the same server! :)

This is Skull Valley I remember not being able to even walk through this place with out going through several people at once.

in UlDah R20+ camps are almost always packed, the other cities have a random camp population except after leve resets then pretty much everything is packed for about 12ish hours.

I only play 1-2 times a week, but last week when I was on we had to teleport around to beable to participate in r20 behests beacuse some of the camps were so crowded that our little group couldn't get in on the behests...

I play when I can, but the constant disconnects make it difficult for me to complete levequests and are really starting to become a bother lately. It's hard to keep playing a game you can only get half an hours questing out of.

#11MattVid6, Posted: Jan 19 2011 at 2:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Apparently, your server is full of inpatient WoW noobs. The population on Mysidia is still surprisingly highl, though, I am glad it has died down a little from release (it used to be way over populated).

Yeah, I pretty much quit. Haven't officially cancelled account in hopes of "major" improvements. But if I do log in, I find myself VERY easily logging off within 15-30mins and that was 2 weeks ago? I just don't have a craving for this game now. I wish this game could keep me interested since it is a FF. I feel bad, like I'm abusing a long lost dog. But then I turn off the PC and it's easily forgettable.

So, to answer the OP title: Not as of now.

Not trolling, but hoping.

I'm in the same boat as many, haven't logged on since their last UI update, and probably won't until they drastically change things. I'm hopeful that by summer time things will be on the up.

I'm seeing more people now then this morning which is exciting. Right now I am actually enjoying the game but 2 months+ off and 200 guardian favor and 100 anima will do that :D

I also think I am going to get one of those banners seeing my progress updated there I think will help me stay motivated a little and Zam deserves the donation.

I was playing 4-5 days a week a month or so ago, but lately it's dropped to 2-3 days a week. That being said, I plan to log in and do some drunken marauding tonight.

sorry for off topic, but...

So far it seems MRD hit rate is proportional to BAC %. I plan to do some more testing late tonight/tomorrow.

this was already mentioned but Uldah is definitely more busy that gidania or limsa. I started in Gridania and was amazed by how much more stuff was in the Uldah market wards. but yeah, main story line is Uldah so those camps (horizone, nanawa, and nophica) are always busy

Uldah is so ugly though... We need to make a movement to relocate everyone back to Limsa.

Limsa is so ugly though, you have mostly sheeps and dodos. There are a few Drake here and there, but mostly Red crabs and ugly Gobbue or slimy Salamander dominate the highest level camps. And not to mention those pipsqueak Beastmen with a lol snake as the Primal Ones. Have you seen Uldah's beastmen and their Primal One? Have you seen various Peiste and Drakes there? Even our Dodos and Moles are badass looking! And best of all we have Cactuar! All we need is a Cactuar King with 100,000 Needles to pwn those Garlean Empire!
