Some people would kill to flip a hamburger atm. Go cry about your job to a real pore man and see how long that last. Sorry Im sure this is a joke but at this time I don't find it funny at all.

All I can assume is that you're one of those unemployed or poorer individuals, because that came out of nowhere. Seriously, why should people be belittled for having a job and finding it stressful at times? Everyone has to deal with it in some form or another, and the idea that people aren't allowed to be stressed because they're somewhat better off than others is unfairly cruel.

I find my job stressful at times, and I don't even get PAID to do it! I work entirely voluntarily because I care that the kids I work with have somewhere to just be themselves. If I seem a little insulted by your post its because I am. My other half is one of those 'stressed developers' you're mocking.

There's a lot of truth to that video. Tight schedules and impossible demands seem to be the way of things these days, and if you can't get the job done there's a hundred unemployed people waiting to take your position. Still think they have it easy?

Normally, I'd agree but the stuff they're talking about is generally the type of thing that leads to the downfall of the company, meaning they're watching themselves go out of a job and can do nothing to prevent it.

This video exemplifies why I no loner work in the industry. Doesn't help that I live in an area with a community college that craps out 50 unqualified programmers (and a few pretty **** good ones) every quarter. Nothing like being told how easily you are replaced by someone 'thankful to have a job and willing to work for min wage'

@glitterhands: I feel your guys pain. Sounds like the same circle I was living in up until a few years ago.

Although I work in the graphics/web field this is pretty much what I have to deal with on a daily basis and let me tell you there's nothing more infuriating than incompetence redundancy and disorganization, this video sums it up nicely, my current job has taken over my life for these very reasons..

Exactly why this video reminded me of XIV. Those people holding the signs could (hypothetically speaking) be the prior dev team...
People tend to forget that devs are human beings, too. They have families, responsibilities, and fragile psyches. Juggling a 9-5 and a family of 4 is hard enough as it is without the pressure and stress of having your job constantly on the line. As was previously pointed out, there are 50 or so people at any given time who would do the same job for less, and that was proven when they switched many of the high-cost devs out for "new blood" that works cheaper and, given enough training and experience, possibly at a comparable skill level to their more expensive and more famous counterparts.

When it comes to the work place, everyone and i mean everyone is replaceable no matter how long they have been there, their expertise, knowledge. The only exception is when your self employed. Now if you get fired from there, you have bigger issue.

If you look at todays society, the IT section is growing in leaps and bounds, so yeah you can be replaced. Scary thought huh?
