Any PS3 info?Follow

#1 Jan 23 2011 at 3:19 AM Rating: Good
Have they dropped any hints or anything about a PS3 release recently? This game really looks like it's starting to come together now, and I really want to play it, without buying a new PC.

Unfortunately no news yet. I also await the PS3 version if only so I can grind crafting whilst watching animu on my PC.

I'm wondering if I should get the game on PC just to start crafting or what not. My pc can probably handle it, but with a crappy fps.

Probly couldn't hurt to get a head start on the game, if you do both Kirby and I play on Rabanastre should join up there. :D

As long as they don't cancel the release, I'm still willing to wait awhile. It would be nice to hear more about their PS3 plans though.

I recall reading that they have no plans to put the PS3 version out anytime soon.
I recall reading that in the 1/21/11 post they put out the other day.

I would say that until they have the pc version up and running the way they and the people what it to you will not see it for sometime.
Its in there post somewhere.

I haven't run a bench on this PC since there was only an unofficial one (some city in the sky thing). I averaged about 21 fps on moderate settings. Will picking up a copy of this game be a mistake? I don't need to be dazzled by graphics at the moment, but don't want to go cross eyed either. I can only grind in XI so much, and I'm almost done with VII again.

You need to run XIV's benchmark, it's not highly accurate but more accuarate than unofficial ones when it comes to the game. If you have a decent or good computer for 2009/2010 you should be ok, but if its a laptop, you'll definitely want to run the official benchmark.

As for PS3:

It's delayed indefinitely until they optimize FFXIV further on the PC.

I can tell you that when the beta was running my laptop had a horrible time running the game. I just installed the game on my laptop a week ago to see how it would run, and on the lowest settings it ran a little choppy, but it was definately playable for fighting if I really wanted to.

As for PS3, I really hope they give the option of paying a little less to be able to download the game. By that time I figure we'll be paying monthly fees, and I really want to be able to play on my PS3 as well as my PC without having to pay $60.

Most of the core development team has since been reshuffled, and the PlayStation 3 port -- originally announced for early 2011 -- has now been put on indefinite delay.

Seems to run well enough, though, I have no idea what I'm doing yet. Ahh, the joys of a new mmo.

You could just do this in reverse, you know.
Unless you're a videophile, it's very simple to convert mkv to your PS3. If for some reason you still watch avi, no conversion is necessary.

Indeed I could, but converting my 1.5 TB of anime or even just the half terabyte of stuff I haven't seen yet is a daunting task at best. There are ways around it currently for sure, I mostly just want the novelty. :D
