Players aimlessly running in an awkward circle for several minutes. Is this sign of a bot? It's been bothering me especially seeing a player with a 50 DoW & 50 DoH job exhibiting this behavior.

Bots mostly hang out in areas where they cannot be MPK'd. IE caves and areas where mobs are a specific level and higher mobs cannot be brought in. It sounds like you have a bot there, but hard to tell without seeing it.

Generally speaking the 2 highest signs of a bot are a) a giberish name and b) that their heads swing madly from person to person as they are set up to tab through targets to find something they can fight.

I use a wired Xbox 360 controller and my left stick sometimes sticks so when i'm afk my character wanders aimlessly in a circle. I wouldn't say this is a bot.

Bots tend to only move when they find their target or are en route to their target area. Running around in circles for no reason is more of a "ohmygod I'm BOOOOOOOOREEEEED!!"

This happens to me all the time, and I also use an xbox controller. I'll go get a drink, come back and be walking like an idiot into a wall somewhere.

Bots have seem to change since I first saw them here. The newest ones don't jerk in all directions like the on in my video. The only sure way to tell a bot is to look for unhumanly consistent behavior.

By that definition, everyone still playing this game would be a bot.

Since you appear to still be posting in a forum about a game you do not play or dislike, that makes you a troll.

And you just lost the game.

In regards to the topic. I do this sort of thing all the time. A good 10% of my time logged in is spent running my lala in a circle.

If it's a Lalafel, it's just what we do while waiting for Behest or the leve party to gather.

If the player can attack when they're in passive mode or from across a map then it safe to say they're a bot. Ran into a lot in the LL caves.
