Poll: Most Useless Job to Rank UpFollow

Why does it matter that DOH/DOL are separate classes and not side profession for the "main" classes? Some people want an alternative means of playing instead of the traditional swing your sword and kill monsters gameplay.

Some would like to define their play experience based on crafting, I don't but I understand their perspective. You can switch from one job to the next at will so I don't see the need to get rid of crafting classes and tack them onto the battle ones.

Why are people getting so hung up on crafting classes being "real" classes or not? Seriously, all you do is switch from your sword to a skillet or whatever and switch back. It's not like you're restricted here.

I picked culinarian. I'm confident food effects are negligible in this game and are so poorly coded they do nothing half the time.

I waited and waited for an "Ask the devs!" segment on food effects but sadly haven't seen one yet. Hint to SE: People are more likely to use something when they know what it does. This whole "lets hide everything from the player" thing doesn't work well in the 21st century.

Main issue with food is that it really does not seem to do much. I've been trying to make myself like Shepherd's Pies (+HP and +Attack) but its just not there. I get 3.5% more hp and no clue how much attack since it doesnt show the change, but my attacks seem to do the exact same damage as without food.

Until the power of food is increased, CUL is worthless.

Definitely culinarian. Food doesn't do enough, it is difficult to tell what it does, and there aren't enough people grinding DOW or DOM to fuel whatever little demand there is. Once the battle mechanics are adjusted and the party sp is system straightened out the market for food will be better, but the effects of food need to be more substantial, the ingredients need to be easier to come by (/cough black pepper), the recipes simpler, and the effects need to be evident in your stats.

It would also help if there were more recipes that are simple and inexpensive for us cooks to grind on.

I would love to hear why some people picked some of the DoW/M classes as the most useless. Really...

Because maybe I don't consider jobs that force me to kill stuff all day long repeatedly to boredom a class. Lol

But seriously I have 7 jobs above my highest battle class. It's just totally boring in this game the way it stands right now. Maybe in the future I will take up a class that kills things but right now it just isn't my thing. I have more fun making my Gil number skyrocket to crazy amounts in hopes that they eventually add something to the game that costs more money then I can make in 10-30 minutes.

Seriously people stop dropping the price on stuff so quickly. Some of us want to spend our money lol.

frankly a fantasy game for someone should enable them to do things they want, fight, gather or craft. fixating on quests or crafting or fighting or gathering is bad imo. a game should be able to cater for all types of players and play styles. this is the only game i can see that i have played that has the potential to achieve this.

I guess since Armorer hasn't been voted for, it is the best job in the game to level! Too bad I am not leveling it yet... :( (One day!!!)

S-same.

Sad, but not surprised Fisher is in a distant second so far.

Oh boy and CUL and Fishing are the only two crafting classes that I am interested in... (T.T;)

Just wondering from a financial + acquiring gears perspective, can you be in good hands without leveling ANY craft? So would I be running out of gil fast trying to buy and repair everything from crafters? Over the long run will I be in a distinct disadvantage in earning gils without any craft lvled?

Fishing is not a crafting class and every fish can be used by alchemists to make shards and crystals so you can make decent gil with it.

As for can you play without crafting at all - I haven't done it but I don't see why not. You will be missing out on half of your available levequests, however. But once you get to R20 leves you are generally making quite a bit of gil from leves.

I think you'd be fine. Fishing is great money though! Minimal money spent, and certain fish in each rank so far have nice "money" fish. The left over fish I use to skill up crafting. CUL turns fish into sand to be used to make shards out of crystals, and ALC can turn fish into shards and crystals to turn into more shards with sand. I haven't crafted a single helpful item yet! Smiley: grin

EDIT: Well, I have made fish bait for myself, but I mean, I haven't crafted items to sell.

Judging from this poll, I should start ranking up CUL :P
I didn't vote as everything has a use. My linkshell has a member who will take as much Pineapple Juice as he can, he usually gets told that he can't have any.

Even though consumables aren't (really) needed, I have a gut feeling they will be needed at a later stage.
