so the stars meas 1-5 star is difficulty/ 1 being easist and 5 being the hardest. If you complete a guild leve you get a blue mark. THe red marks mean u FAIL. when you get new guild leves you trade in the old ones( the ones that you completed) for rewards. The rewards are for every star that you rade in you gell an extra 1k in gil or 100 in guild marks added to your reward on the next guild leve.

I hope you can actually understand this concept. after a few rounds you might get it. Also you only get the Guild Marks when you gan do guild leves at lvl 20 and above. hope this helps.

EDIT: your that high a lvl and you have no idea whats going on in this game. did your friend give it to you or did you actually start out fresh? If you did then you would know what is going on.

Okay, what I mean by numbers and stars is when you are accepting the leves from the guild, your menus pops up asking about exchanging leves, further to the right you will see a number and a star...I am asking about those. What does that mean. I am also asking about when you pull up your menu, there is a blue shield/check thing next to the leve in my journal. I'm not talking about starting leves at the crystals.

Every leve you do can be traded in to boost the rewards of another leve, the increase seems to be a percentage based on the number of stars traded in. Now how do you figure out how many stars each leve is worth? Well it's actually pretty simple, 1 star is for having a different picture on the leve card, one is for it being from a different issuing authority (Gridania, Ul'dah, LL and Ishgard currently). The star value for trade-ins is completely irrelevant to difficulty you completed it at or number of people etc. Your best bet is to check your leves and use the trade ins to boost up your good rewards seeing as the increase does appear to be a percentage, and not a flat rate as was previously suggested. I hope that helps clarify, if you have any more questions about it just ask.

Edit: The blue shield with a checkmark means the leve was started and completed successfully.

Without doing hard calculations, each star is adds roughly 12%. If you trade in 8 stars (the max) your reward will be a little bit less than double. I look at all my levequests before trading anything in. Look for your best reward first, then trade as many 2 star cards as you can (4 max.) If there are not 4 cards with 2 stars, I will save the other cards for a different leve where the card is worth two. One completed levequest card can give different star values for different tradeins. When you try to trade one it, it might give you 0 stars for one leve, and 2 stars for another one. General rule; don't trade 0 star ones, always trade 2 star ones on high reward leves, and trade 1 star ones if you have no other option.

You should also be aware that you will forfeit your trade in reward if you pick the same levequest as one you already are holding. For example, If you just completed 'Just one of the Dodos,' and when it becomes avalible again you pick it first, it trades automaticallyI'm pretty sure you lose the reward. This is important, because if you traded on a different levequest first (like for 2000 guildmarks)you will get a better reward (roughly an extra 120 guildmarks per star - thats potentialy 250 guildmarks you throw out the window by having the levequest automatically trade.) If you didn't pay attention at all and did this with all levequests, you lose all the bonuses of trading them in.

Gee thanks for being so helpful. If you can't post something that is helpful, then just don't. And just because my character has many jobs leveled doesn't always mean one knows what is going on. This game isn't even a year old, not everyone is going to know everything immediatly. If you don't ask, you never learn.

To the other poster, ty.
