An idea about the Market WardsFollow

Now before I present the I must admit I am relatively unfamiliar with how servers work and they way they serve up the zones in this game.

That being said, I propose that the market wards be the same in all towns, similar to how you warped into a interconnected zone for Choco racing in FFXI. They could eliminate the space they are using for two towns to increase capacity to make a single set of wards across the world. On Trabia the only place to find goods is in Uldah and I imagine there is a similar situation on other servers as it's centrally located between the 3 towns and makes for a natural gathering point. This also taxes the server in Uldah as I notice an immediate spike in lag the moment I waltz into town.

If my proposed plan is viable then I believe it would help to alleviate the clustering in that zone and also help players be able to find gear and items in every town without resulting in warping over to the main gathering town to be able to find anything.

Also in the event SE ever decides to cave into the pressure from that certain percentage who is bloodthirsty for an AH, they should definitely make it universal across all cities.

I see two problems with this...

First that it would kill immersion as some people say, basically it doesnt seem real to have someone in LL and someone in Uldah get together in a market ward.

Second is that they would have to implement another process to recognise who got into them from where and only give these characters that same possibilities when leaving the wards. Either that or allow for characters to travel between cities through the wards which I don't see happening.

If you played FFXI you will probably remember that the main 3 cities' HA were seperate, even to the point which they would be empty for the exception of specific drops to the starter areas. If SE didn't merge the AHs then I don't see them doing it now on FFXIV.

FYI, SE is merging all the AH in FFXI on their next update. Also when you would go to the Choco circuit you could only teleport back to the nation you entered from. SE has allready figured this out in FFXI and shouldn't be to hard to do it in FFXIV. FFXI has so many great features i wouldn't mind if this game became FFXI-2. It's just my opinion/

I know when i first started playing FFXIV i was surprised no teleing spells but we have Anima, so everyone can be the "WHM" if need be.

In a broader perspective, it comes to asking :"how easy does the game have to be in terms of marketing/traveling/storage etc. to be efficient, fun and realistic at the same time"?

Would you prefer to have an infinite inventory, number of retainers and items slots for selling, to get rid of anima and get infinite teleports?

I'm not to sure what to think about this... I know I like some basic rules about the mechanics, but I don't know what the best balance would be. I think I like the system they have to far in general.

Then call it "magic" and let it harmonize perfectly with the "anima" that instantly transports us anywhere in the world already.

"An auction house merger is in the pipes for the next major version update."

Looks like SE's changed in recent times; that takes care of both of you "problems," now.

i think the main problem is the fact the wards crash already, if everyone was in the same ward it would overload as it currently stands
