Missing Projectiles?Follow

Something I noticed a long time ago, then forgot about, and now noticed again:
How come there are no visible projectiles when I use my phantom dart? Is there
some technical reason for this? My proud Elezen keeps whiffing his wand through
the air, and *something* seems to hit the opponent (but I'm unable to tell what).

I never played as an archer/ranger... Do you guys see what you shoot?
Does a Lancer that throws a javelin actually see the javelin?

I don't know about DoW classes, but I've never seen any projectile on my CON & THM, hence the name 'Phantom' perhaps?

That might be the explanation ^.^/. At least for THMs!
I wonder about DoWs, though...?
Perhaps they shoot their arrows so lightening-quick
that they appear to be invisible and simply disintegrate
upon impact. Stupid me. I actually thought SE was lazy.

Phantom darts are phantom.

This must just be a mistake, because it's not like any other battle-related animations are lackluster in FFXIV.

Phantom Darts are indeed Phantom by design -- just like our Phantom arrows, Phantom javelins, Phantom stones, Phantom chakram, and Phantom anything else that is more complicated to animate moves through the Phantom air.

Perhaps it's part of the big, hidden storyline
twist that awaits players at level 51:

"Eorzea is just a phantom realm woven from the memories
of fallen warriors from the distant past. Since none of
them has an accurate memory of what an arrow looks like
in mid-air, there are no visible projectiles."
