The thing with asking for buddy passes is people don't know your intentions. For all we know you could be a dummy account for an RMT.

As the client/installation files can be downloaded from the internet at no cost other than internet usage, if you get a buddy pass which enables you to create a service/account for FFXIV then basically you can set up bots to farm gold and shards at no outlay costs.

If you are serious about playing the game and giving it a chance, why aren't you willing to pay SE its dues and buy a copy of the game containing an registration code? They can be bought now for as low as $20-$30.

Yes but at the same time for players that are serious about giving the game a try could add to the overall gaming population.. but im not a rmt (not that saying it really matters the way you put it) haha

Well if anyone is intrested in passing one to me hit me up.

I do plan on paying for a good while if i take a liking to it so your buddy pass wont be going to waste ^^

Sorry, gave mine away already to a friend. And no offense here, but even if I still had it I wouldn't just give it away to some random stranger. The pass acts as a real full copy for anyone who uses it. Pretty much all you're doing is begging for someone to give the game to you free. I might get rated down for this (don't care so go ahead.) but I hope the mods start cracking down on these types of threads that post bumming Buddy Passes for. If you're serious about the game, buy it, try it out. At this point it's only gonna get better. And if you pay instead of bumming you're helping sales. After SE's total failure with the launch this game needs all the help it can get to make a comeback.

A bit off topic but why isn't there a free week trial or something... or would it be even possible with such a huge game?

my guess would be since in most games those free trials turn into RMT spammers advertising their websites and such. but it could help their sales in the long run giving people a chance to see if their system can run the game besides the benchmark

Im not asking for a buddy pass someones going to give away but one thats never going to be used anyways. If its just going to sit on a shelf, why not give it away? Any who, im still looking for one drop me a pm if anyones interested :)

And i agree it does need all the help it needs from what ive been reading, but thats exactly why giving out buddy passes should be considered more of a good than bad thing, i dont plan on buying a game i either cant run or doesnt perform well, if the game was good id buy it, its as simple as that, same reason before playing any other mmo i try a trial first if available, and im sure you would do the same as me and look for a buddy pass if you were in my shoes and didnt buy the game yet.

It's a bit unfair to expect people to drop money on a product when even the manufacturer is aware and admits that it's of poor quality. It is a bit much to ask some stranger for what is essentially a full copy of the game, however.

Its a trial..... you guys really getting all mad and crap just because you guys bought it? its literally a slip of paper that lets you TRY the game for 30 days, its bound to be pay to play anyways on top of that if your paying 70-80 for a collectors edition you **** well better be getting 2 copys of the game when its 2x as much lol, so if you all want to get technical SE has been paid when you paid 80 bucks for an extra in game item... why do you think a buddy pass is in there? because SE knows you just paid a f load of money and they dont give a crap about one more account thats been paid for already... you guys are the fools if you think leaving it on a shelf to collect dust is the smart thing to do. really though i give up im going to buy a code its only 20 bucks i didnt think the forum would go hulk over letting someone use a buddy pass they'll never use.

it's not 30 days, it's unlimited until further notice. If I had one I would keep it until the game was P2P again, or resell it. It would never remain on a shelve forever (unless you are expecting that the game will eventually die, which ain't happening)!

Want to try to burn time? Don't buy it.. If you know what you are getting into, the price isn't gonna stop you.

Good luck selling a buddy pass for a F2P game in the fail side

Already purchased, then gave buddy pass to a friend, but anyways you guys cant be thinking its f2p for that long.... its SE dont get your hopes high theyll crash down. and a buddy pass cant be used on a account that has ffxiv already on it so saving it till its p2p is pointless unless you plan on making a new character, still need a buddy pass for my other friend let me know if anyone has one, no rush.

And it was worth buying just a little lag on max settings.... =/
