Friendly message to lurkers on here who aren't playing XIVFollow

#1 Feb 02 2011 at 11:43 AM Rating: Excellent
If you're in a LS in the game and are one of the many people who don't log in (but may again when your ideal content patch arrives), it would be a very nice thing to log in after this patch, check out the changes, and then break your LS if you have one.

Currently our shell (and at least 2 others that I know of) are near maximum capacity. We've done a shell break and remake once and it was a hassle, but it's the only method.

Obviously the ideal method would be a fix from SE's end to boot LS members who aren't on or near you... but that threads in the suggestions forum. This thread is just a simple message to those who may not know they are potentially making things difficult for their LS Mate who are playing.

Thanks and happy adventuring

Yeah would be nice if people showed a lil respect for their former LS mates and did this. I understand wanting to stay in the shell in case you might want to play again someday but, I know we would be happy to reinvite if you do end up playing...

My linkshell suffers from this too, we had to repearl once before and now we're at 114 members again. I'm hoping S-E does something about this, because begging inactive people to log in once to drop a LS is really silly in my opinion. ><

Most people probably don't know that if you quit, you still stay in the linkshell list.

I didn't know this myself.

But... I'm not reinstalling XIV just to do this.

Seriously, why wasn't the option to kick inactive players from a shell included from the beginning. Who the **** tested this crap? ...oh that's right, I did. SE didn't listen to me. lol

Chrys and me will pop back on long enough to break our pearls tonight.

We're joining the XI players and hopefully we be able to return to XIV when it is worth playing. Until then, see you guys in IRC.

If we do another /shellbreak can we change the color to something more subtle? Purple and yellow just aren't doin it for me.

just thought I'd throw it out there ^^;

Put that on the LS forum; colors and crest were based on a vote months ago :)

Little things like that can make a good game go bad very fast.. I wonder where all the polish went..

FYI this thread wasn't directed at my LS, I know where my LS forum is ^.~ I just had a feeling that a lot of people still lurking ZAM but no longer playing the game maybe didn't realise that you can't boot inactive members. There ARE people who read ZAM who have 60+% decided they will never play this game again, this was mostly directed at them since people obviously can't contact them in game. I know we have people in the LS who are active on our "forum" but not in game. There's a tough decision for individual LS's, this thread was mainly for those who definately won't play for the forseable future.

having said that...
Lamneth, I thought you guys still logged in randlomy?
