Which is good because people can no longer rip you off now. It'll settle down eventually but all it does is prevent the people that has a 5000% markup on items end up getting the sales because they placed their retainers correctly while person charging at reasonable prices get glossed over because it doesn't pick up on search due to their misplaced retainer.

well, that's what I like about it currently. Just as you can be the one on the bad end of one of those sells, you can also be the one on the good end. It's all up to the players. If anyone is willing to pay a 5000% increase, then to them, its not a rip off, its what they are willing to pay.

I can only hope. Do I look forward to logging on grinding 10 hours alone and then calling it a day? No. However, I wouldn't mind logging on and grinding 10 hours with a group of my friends while we shoot the proverbial sh*t. It pass the time much better and is "fun" so to speak. Not to mention, who doesn't love the old game of "I can land a higher dmg weaponskill than you"... :)

edit: not to mention, how will anyone learn about the battle regimen system if no one is ever in a party long enough to make it -worthwhile-.

Exactly. No one forces you to pay that price.

The obvious bad part of this is that we are no longer motivated to have our stuff in the correct ward. The tax hit isn't big enough for me to make lots of trips to the wards constantly shuffling my retianer around. As long as my items are showing up in search, Ill just leave the retainer wherever.

I still wish that ingredients would have a price history and finished products would not. This makes the most sense. Basically an AH for all ingredients and retianers for finished products.

I'm a bit disappointed with the price showing function, I would have liked an ability to star specific sellers. I'm not thrilled that I'll have to remember the name XXWeaponzXX has a cheaper item that XXWeapwnzXX, but its still a huge step towards getting a fair market for items.

I can't possibly see how the sp change can be better for solo players, but I won't judge it until I've seen some numbers.

All in all, it reads a lot like the previous couple of patches, small improvements for people who liked the game already, nothing that'll change anybodies mind though.

I'm pretty sure that there will be stars still. Aren't there already stars on retainers that are in the incorrect wards? I'm pretty sure there are, you just don't see them show up in the item search. When I was searching for Dream Hats I went to the leather ward to manage my other retainer and I noticed some retainers had stars above them because just happen to have Dream Hats in their bazaar. They did not show up in the item search, but they did get a star above their name regardless.

I think now they will show up in item search, and get a star - which pretty much makes it pointless to name the wards I suppose. I guess the tax savings is meaningful for some expensive items.

Nope, not a troll. I just really think this Market Ward thing is a terrible system, and is definitely NOT the same thing as an auction house. With an AH you just click and buy and POW you have your item. With the wards you have to search, tag, then run thru a room filled with lifeless bots just to get your item. Honestly, which sounds better?

Troll? Please. It's called having an opinion.

One more comment from me... I agree that they are making progress. However, I do find it to be incredibly slow progress. In following the Rift beta, for example, they seem to be making much more significant changes in mere week or two spans between beta events (changes based on feedback from the players, I might add). Is FFXIV just more complicated to code than other mmos? Do the programmers use bad coding form so that its like untangling a birds nest while trying to make modifications to the game?

You're missing quite a few steps.

AH without a search setting =

Walk to the AH/NPC
Interact with it
Look at the various categories laid out in a list
Scan lists till you get to your desired category
Expand the category you want
Find the item you want
Place your bid/buy now
Wait x amount of hours/days till you get your item (if bidding)
Go about your business.

AH with a search setting =

Walk to the AH/NPC
Interact with it
Search the item you want
Pray that the item's ID and database entry matches its name or ....
Go to the internet database site for (MMO) and find the proper search term
Place your bid/buy now
Wait x amount of hours/days till you get your item (if bidding)
Go about your business.

Compare (for the sake of argument) WoW's auction house to FFXIV's market wards. Which is easier/more practical/faster? There is no contest here.

Anyway, I have my opinion and you have yours. Let's leave it at that :)

Just sharing!

I was soloing Scout Vultures(green/yellow for me at r48), and before patch was getting like 88~98(on surplus), now i log in...and SOLO i'm getting 113 RP on green ones.

Edit: Truffle Hogs(yellow) were 100 rp before, 177 now.
Def. gonna try r60+ in parties.

Cheers.

And what exactly is it that you feel would finalize the morph into an AH? Them hanging a sign over it saying "Auction House." For all intents and purposes you now have your AH. The functionality is nearly identical. You just have to walk to a retainer to pick up your item, rather than to a mailbox. Stop complaining just for the sake of complaining.

I haven't tried party grinding yet but i have to say i am a little disappointed. Soloing mobs gives you more sp now, but i still spent a good 3+ minutes fighting a red/tough peste and only got about 300sp. Still just seems wrong to me that i can kill about 20+ coblyns in that time for much much more. Like i said i haven't tried party grinding yet, but soloing pretty much is the same since it is still more beneficial to grind coblyns. My biggest let down with this patch was the fact that the /display option doesn't affect cowls. I mean seriously? What is with that? The color changes were ok i guess, though having a color deficiency makes it not that noticeable anyway. I don't want to complain to much because im sure others are loving this patch and i know it is just a start. I am just a little bummed that i was only able to log in for about 40 minutes before hitting boredom again :(

edit: tried some other mobs. Seems just some of them take forever to kill and don't reward as much sp as they should. I am sure they will be tweaking things as we go. Overall the game seems to run smoother which is a plus

Distilled water is perfectly safe and healthy to consume. When I was a kid, we had an electric water still, to provide fresh DISTILLED drinking water free from the somewhat nasty minerals and crap (some of them toxic) in our well water. It's probably safer and healthier than the pre-poisoned crap most of you who live in cities have coming out of your taps.

This was the final straw that broke the camel's back for me. I patch, log in, sort my sh*t, and go grab some DoH leves to do. On the way there, I stop for a moment to chat and buff with water before crafting. No go, it's not in the list.

With this broken-*** game in as bad a spot as it's in, they shouldn't be nerfing ANYTHING, anything at all until they seriously fix it up bigtime.

Water was dirt cheap, and seemed to help a little with crafting. ****, for all I know, it was just as good as the most expensive food in the game, with so many things being broken and unfinished. Breaking that was just so petty, so unnecessary, that I just plain snapped and gave up. Gave away a few million in gil and valuable gear to my one good friend who still plays, and logged out, possibly forever.

They will have to pull a @#%^ing Jesus and walk on water to get me back at this point, and I doubt they can do it before the game is crushed under the weight of its inactive player base.

I don't even have the resolve to post a complaint/bug report ******** about this change anymore, if they can't figure out something this simple, I no longer have hope.

Rate me up, not down, so I look better and more important in Zam's Rift forums, otherwise I might have to come back here and troll and post negative things about the game. Smiley: dubious

while its perfectly fine to drink distilled water those nasty minerals you call them are essential for our health things that occur naturally in water like Calcium, Magnesium and Sodium for instance. So its not really healthier in 1 respect. Also water from taps (in the UK at least) is perfectly safe containing very little toxic compounds and no amount of it you drink will cause harmful side affects. Also some of those "toxins" they place in the water acutally helps kill harmful bacteria preventing us from getting ill.

there really was no need to kick off about how amazing distilled water is.

I did 2 goldsmith leve quests last night. first one is R25 and 2nd one is R20. My goldsmith is level 21 at the moment. The first quest each synth net me around 850 SP for 6 synths. This very same leve gave around 470-500sp per synth before last night's update. 2nd quest net me 500ish per synth and it used to give 370-400ish pre-update.

I net around 9k SP from only 2 leves. Awesome!
