I view you not resisting to post the majority of the time as a sign of weakness... Corny often means well but doesn't format his posts properly to convey it... and he gets rated down constantly. You have yet to post anything that I can make sense of... but yet your posts don't start at default yet even though they almost always end up there.... at least when it comes to the XIV forums.

You mistake me for someone who cares about the broken lolkarma system.

You know, this sheds some light:

How is it broken when it does what it's supposed to? It can be abused that's for sure, but if it was broken it wouldn't work at all..which leads me to believe people don't know what the term "broken" means anymore with how often its thrown around on these forums. Smiley: laugh

You say lolkarma, but I have yet to read a default/sub-default post that truely made me want to hit the green arrow. (That is just me though.)
On the flipside, I don't think I have ever felt the need to hit the red arrow on a Good/Excellent Post. Obviously it isnt as -lol- as you claim.
(edit: oh no... default, wonder who did that... *wonders* )

Wow.
I'm shocked, twice.

1- A cornyboob thread that was actually decent.

2- It has been derailed by someone besides cornyboob.

Killing blues was boring, I have my character logged off around some yellows which will hopefully give decent SP now. I was getting ~125SP before at R29, any kind of increase could put it on par with pre-patch Behests for me.

People who were complaining about the 1,1,1,2,1,1,1 battle system should be happy that they're going to be rewarded for fighting tougher mobs. And I can't honestly understand why anyone would complain about this... who is so bad at this game that they can't kill yellows?

Look at that. SP has actually increased fighting blue monsters. At least when I fight wolves.

Before 70~80.
Now 105~115.

I dont expect a solo player to be at the same place a grouper is at end of week.

Never have and never will expect that.

What i expect is that a solo player should be able to gain a rank every few days, at my solo rate ar r43 it will take me over 3 weeks to rank up just one rank. Based on the mobs i have to resort to fighting.

A group player can rank up 3 times a day if they do it right. Why is it too much to expect to get 1 rank a week or every few days solo?

Casual solo players should not be exponentially penalized for paying for a game they want to lvoe and play. If they choose to help you then they will. If they want to party they will. If they dont they should still be able to play at a pace that is not prohibitivly slower then everyone else who is blessed with a good time schedule and opportunities to get in large groups on a regular basis.

But this doesn't make sense on the most fundamental of levels. How can you expect for Player X and Player Y to be at the same point at the end of the week if Player X spent 20 hours playing, while Player Y only spent 4.5 hours playing? 20 will never equal 4.5, and any attempts to do so will be inherently unfair to Player X who put in 20 hours worth of work. It think at best it's naive to expect the two players to be able to achieve the same results with such a disparity in playtime. Player Y isn't leveling at a prohibitivly slower pace than Player X because of a game mechanic (party vs. solo play). He's leveling slower because he unfortunately isn't "blessed with a good time schedule." Such is life. It's unfair and unequal.

This SP change will make people group, talk and interact with each other. That is what the community needs, more community.

You are right, disagreeing with someone doesn't make you a troll, sounding like a jerk does. You don't have to say what you said in your first post. It's rude. There are those out there who have higher priorities that do not allow them to game as heavily as you do. They game to GET A BREAK from what they are doing IRL. Just because they don't have time, doesn't mean they should be opted out of an MMO.

Overall I'd agree on that, but on the other hand...MMOs are what they are...Massively Multi Player Games. That's why I play them, I like playing with others, I like to do things with others, hence why I play MMOs.
So for me personal...MMOs should be made and cater towards people enjoying that kind of games and that kind of playstyle. MMORPG in specific are made to last for a long time, if not forever. For that purpose they need content and they need "goals" players can strife for and take a long time to achieve.

Let's take the example of a relic weapon in FFXI...I never got mine finished til I quit FFXI, but I'd totally welcome something similiar to FFXIV. Players with not much time, ergo won't ever get something like a relic weapon, tend to "demand" a change in the game, that allows them to get this stuff as well while playing solo. But sorry...this is where I don't agree.

I think there should be a viable niche for players not having much time to invest in an MMO, but at the same time, MMOs are made for players with much time who can invest it into the MMO and this is how content should be designed for an MMO. Give people that play solo, or don't have the time to do much a reasonable amout of content, but still focus on Group and Multiplayer content, cause that's what the game is about and that's how it should be.

Another simple example...I personally would love to paraglide...but I can't, I lack the money for it...does that give me the right to demand money from banks, or whatever so I could, when obviously it is restricted to people who have the money to do it? No...and I don't brag about it...it might not be fair, but that's how it is and you have to deal with it.

I dislike sports game like extremely...I don't touch any at all...but I won't start telling EA or whoever develops them to change the game so I WOULD play it...it is made for players who like to play sports games and as long as they are happy with it, who am I to say it is wrong?

People get hung up on the whole party vs solo / hardcore vs casual crap but what it comes down to is people wanting to log in and feel like they've accomplished something. Doesn't matter if they played for 20 minutes or 20 hours. Doesn't matter if they were in huge groups fighting epic monsters or playing solo killing squirrels. Each should feel like they've accomplished something in that time. Partying leveling up faster is fine provided it isn't one of those deals where the person playing solo feels like they have done nothing by comparison.

Whether you like Blizzard (WoW) or not, one thing they did pretty well was cater to a lot of different types of players. Now, that doesn't mean that everyone who plays it is always happy and IMO it gets old like any other game but there is something there for a wide range of people. It can be argued that it is also a huge drawback to it because it doesn't seem to have any focus on a specific group and maybe it's spread too thin never pleasing anyone. That's a problem but it's something people are going to see more and more often. MMOs are big business. The little niche games you remember when you were young aren't likely to be back anytime soon. Look at FFXI. That was a game where soloing for most classes just wasn't viable. It was either PT or GTFO. Look at it now. It's evolved into a game that has not only made solo/small group play viable, it's encouraged in some instances. That is the world of MMOs today. People forget that the people making these games aren't doing so specifically for our enjoyment. They are doing it to make money. Luckily for us, that usually means they make a game as enjoyable as possible. They try to get as many subs as they can and appeal to as many different types of players as possible.

You can say you don't like that and there are times I don't either but that's the world of MMOs right now. Maybe a company will come out with a game only appealing to a specific type of player but don't expect that to be from one of the big game companies. Look for an indy company to do that.

Crafting SP has greatly increased even on lower rank items.

Have not tried grinding a DoW class yet.

I am very impressed with the raising of the SP the patch notes can take some advice from a few posters here to use better wording because it made it sould like sp was going down when in fact it appears to have gone up all around.

Initial crafting results for a r41 craft of colored linen cloth results in 386-512 SP up from 240-340.

at r43 Conj spec'd for healing and weaving High VIT and MND less then 50 INT PTY I get 68 SP from blue coblyns and 150 SP from greens, a increase of 60 SP on greens and no noticiblw decrease from blues, near broken water.

Bravo SE Bravo

I want to work 10 hours a week and get paid the same as the people who work 60. It's not fair that I can't spend 60 hours a week at work! I have a life! I shouldn't be penalized for that!

But no, seriously. I agree.

Were you on Carbuncle? If so, I think I know who you were. If not then someone else also did the same thing.

I think I just agreed with something cornyboob said but I have decided that this is impossible.

Someone call cornyboob and tell him that someone stole his Zam account and is posting well-thought out arguments on his account.
