I see. Good point about the R30 Behests. I was thinking of hanging around Tranquil Behests, sounds like it will work. Thanks for the helpful ideas.

I'm seriously concerned about Behest. I haven't even seen the behests at camps above rank 20, but at Camp Horizon on Gysahl, you have about 1 second to get into the event before you're locked out... there's just so many people.

As the population continues to climb, it will be interesting to see what SE does to keep this from being an event that causes more frustration than fun.
On Besaid I logged on at like, 3:04 pm a couple days ago to check out the patch. Saw 3 people run off with the NPC moments later to do Behest. Wasn't until reading this that I'm honestly curious how you can have that many people wanting to do Behest.

Yeah but when you do the behest with 3 people you actually have to try :| the nice thing about 15 people is that one can just sit in the back and watch the simpsons :P

I did two Tranquil behests tonight. The first (at 9 p.m. PST) had nine people, the second an hour later had just three.

Then it was off to Camp Horizon, where I was fortunate enough to get in... my friend, who also hit F8 and then spammed enter, wasn't so lucky...

I definitely prefer the Tranquil experience.

This reminds me of behest at Horizon on Wutai xD Sometimes there is free spots but for most you got a race to get your spot in xD But for example when you go to r20 camp tranqill at Gridania... empty... well i was once and done behest there, so maybe it was one time experience.

Yep, quite a lot of people (more than what it was in the beginning of December when I went on my break) on Besaid.
AND what I have noticed also is that Besaid actually has quite a big European population <3 <3

I've noticed that too, but I've also noticed a sharp drop in active Roleplayers for Besaid too. At the start Besaid was marked as the unofficial RP server by the RPC and most sites. A population boost is awesome, but bums me out when I see more and more people going "lol RP" or start griefing you. I miss mah RP buds!

Oh I still do as do many people I know, just sad sometimes when you see everything so quiet. I'd love to just jump into a random RP full of people I don't even know. But back on topic here's hoping the population continues to grow! Even if it's not RP it is good to see normal conversations going on even in shouts. Felt so awkward running around a populated city, spending hours there and not seeing so much as a mistell in your chat log. Now I wander in and sometimes find a strange conversation in shouts or some people using /say to talk about a movie they've watched.

I just wanted to extend my thanks for this thread, as it's given me a bit of insight as to the growing populations.

I have decided for myself to begin the magic of FFXIV - I have held off since the moment I heard things weren't going so hot... I didn't want to get a sour taste in my mouth from the start. However, I'm pretty sure I am bringing my boyfriend and close friend into this.

Personally, I like to find a decent population, so that I can find a party or group of people who want to go do something. However, I can deal with a somewhat lower population, because I have a lot of patience and remember what it was like in FFXI to find parties in certain level ranges (if a static wasn't available). I plan to do a lot of crafting, and if I could help it I'd be maxed out in all crafts before I really get into ranking up disciplines of magic and war! My boyfriend, however, does not share this same zeal and lust for the game, and my friend is quite the work horse but would be entirely new to the FF Online experience. I will likely be able to shape my play schedule around their playing interests, however I want them to have little to no trouble in accomplishing what it is they want when they're online (being crowded isn't an issue - I don't want to bring them into a ghost town).

But....... as any good boy should, I would like to assist with bringing one of the lower population servers up to an enjoyable crowd density.

With all of this in mind... can anybody recommend a server that isn't a complete ghost town that could use a little love with server population? I logged onto Figaro last night, deleted that character and logged onto Saronia... and the differences were pretty extreme. I chose Uldah as my starting town in both situations. It just feels like there was a really big disparity, and I'm afraid to ride only one chocobo, but don't want to spoil the three chocobo worlds. :P

HALP?

I think when the population dropped below a certain number everyone kinda needed to move to Uldah to enjoy the game in terms of selling stuff and finding ppl. When the server population begins to grow passed a certain amount, Uldah and its camps will become overcrowded. Luckily there are two other cities and there will be a group of ppl that will decide to do behest in other areas and may start to stay there (probably LL first then Grid).

Yea, Wutai is looking healthy.
