Stupid Questions from a beginnerFollow

So it turns out my old Asus laptop can run the game, albeit on pretty low settings, so I'm happy to have an opportunity to see what I think of the game in it's current state, but I have a couple of questions as I get myself set here.

First, is there no compact keyboard setting?

If not, is there a way to relegate camera movement to the arrow keys? It won't allow me to assign those keys for camera movement in the one menu I found, so I'm assuming not.

Also, can anyone suggest a good PC gamepad for someone who likes the feel of the PS controllers? I think I might enjoy playing this on a controller based on the button layout presented in the instruction manual.

Nice, that's pretty awesome. I thought about trying it but didn't know about the motionjoy download. Appreciate it.

Couple more dumb questions:

Are you "attuned" with an aetheryte just by clicking on it? Do you have to do anything in particular (there's not really much tutorial).

And is anyone on Istory that wants to help a noob along so I don't have to keep coming here to post stupid questions? I just started off in Gridania.

Clicking on an aetheryte:

1) Sets it as your home point, such that the next time you die, this is where you will return
2) Allows you to teleport to the crystal at any time in the future

Alright, so you only have to click on it, correct? I'm familiar with the homepoint idea and stuff from XI, but I wasn't sure if you had to do anything since clicking on a crystal in XI would bring up the options like "set this location as your homepoint"; I just wasn't sure if I was actually doing what the game told me to when I walked up to an aethyrite clicked on it a few times and nothing happened.

I dunno about clicking it (do they allow that now?) - a menu option comes up in your main menu as an exclamation point. If you choose that option from the main menu you will get a menu pop up that should allow you to choose to initiate a levequest or read "the call of adventure"

You don't have an option to "not" set a crystal you interact with as a homepoint. It happens automatically as soon as you open the aethyrite menu.

Yeah, I must correct myself; you don't click on it, you open your menu and select Aetheryte.

Side note: They really should let you be able to click on it, like they added for chests. If they can add it for chests, they can add it for aetheryte, like Home Points in XI had.
