FOLLOW THIS RULE for HQ items in market wardsFollow

If this rule catches on, our problems will be solved.

If you have an HQ item, simply change the last digit to either 1, 2, or 3 when you sell it in the wards.

example;

Bronze Celeta------20,000
Bronze Celeta +1---30,001
Bronze Celeta +2---40,002
Bronze Celeta +3---45,003

What do you guys think?

yeah I am sure they will buy it too, since you're being a douche. I know I would. I love encouraging doucheyness.

Maybe someone doesn't WANT to pay an extra 3 gil? Ever think of that? Gil doesn't grow on trees, you know! Some people are so **** inconsiderate.

....but no, seriously. That's a genius idea. I really hope it catches on. Rate up for being creative.

Neat idea, but ideas like this never catch on. We shouldn't have to come up with a system to get around SE's oversight, Lets just get them to tag the prices as +1/2/3 like they should have done in the first place.

Yeah it'd be a great idea if people went along with it, but I highly doubt they will... Another downside is that HQ is usually considerably more expensive than the NQ, which gives HQ's of anything that's not relatively rare a very low chance of being in the top 20 lowest prices.

Really, what we need is to be able to search separately for HQ items. Like when you click on an item, maybe have it go to a sub menu for NQ-HQ3, so keep the previous menu tidier...

At any rate, it's still a good idea, and I'm sure it would come in handy at least occasionally if people did that. :P

I dont understand how its that good an idea when Rinsui (who was rated down for) has shown the obvious flaw in it.

Because (as was pointed out) you could summon people to your Bazaar with +3 lies...

...but are they then stupid enough to buy from you? Maybe once you get them there with the lies you can have a 100 Shard mischievously priced for 10,000 gil (each). Cause I hear those bazaars do well in the long run.

Anyway this is a great idea and I'll be spreading this too (until SE makes a distinction).

It's certainly better than nothing and maybe we'll get to weed out a few more douche bags.

Seriously FFXIVPRO should make a list of all the scams running. They could flag entire accounts with the "DOUCHE" stamp on their foreheads so the rest of us could black list them. That would be so nice. Much easier than my small personal tally.

I don't think too many people would abuse it and put 3 on the end of things just to get people to look at their bazaar. With the system in place now, I don't 'think' people really window shop anymore, It seems people know what they want, and do a search for it via the item search counter.

Can mods give this thread more shine somewhere to make it more widely known and accepted as a viable method?

It's really nothing new: SE generally implements partially-broken, bare-bones systems and then sets them aside as "finished forever."

People need to use "illegal" programs in FFXI just to change their font, or to put timers on their buffs -- at least FFXIV figured that out from the start. You would think that, with the speed SE tries to suppress third-party programs, they would at least *look* at the reason so many people downloaded them... maybe take some ideas (or, in wondower's case, copy some **** code!)? XD

It's really nothing new: gamers take game concepts into their own hands regardless of functionality.

Fixed.

Yeah, I feel that this thread is very positive for the game play, and felt that bumping it was justified. Hopefully mods agree :)

hey neat if it works, glad to see something is happening on your server about it. But I still think its more important to let the dev's know they dropped the ball here, and that you are preaching to too small a choir to make a difference.

I actually saw this thread the first time around and liked the concept. Have been doing it ever since. I do notice some on Palamecia that do this as well, but for the time being (until we get some kind of real AH) I wish we could get more people to do the same.

How about implementing a proper auction house with optional search checkboxes?

I'm not sure If I'm just being biased because it's my post, but this type of thread doesn't deserve to be flamed/trolled or replied to in a negative way. This is just positive good information that isn't hurting anyone. You should type your complaints in the official Lodestone forums if you strongly wish for them to change it. We all want them to eventually implement a system where it tells us the hq level, that should go without saying.

Bronze Celta 45,003 <- people buy this based on seeing the 3 extra gil and being conditioned to it.

Wonderful idea for scammers to exploit.

If you don't confirm whether or not the item is actually HQ before you buy it then you deserve to be scammed.

^^ Exactly. HQ items stick out plain as day compared to the gil. This has been in effect on Rabanastre and I've yet to see anyone attempt to scam or lure people to their bazaars.

i have to say that isnt true at all seeing as how i constantly see NQ items 3-(literally)10x the amount of what they are usually sold as... if that makes sense.

LOL what was I thinking? (V_V);;;
You should have seen me getting beaten up in the official forum for even trying to compare the current Market Wards to the EQ1 Market Ward. Typical WN responses were like "...why should they copy the AH from other games? The current system works better then a AH."
