I think the next patch will include:
-Quests
-Hamlet defense (hopefully similar to campaign with more objectives?)
-NMs
-Battle System tweaks/updates
-Skill changes and balances (Which class can equip what/How much damage/acc)
-Rank required gear of some sort
-Some UI tweaks
-Some improvements to the ongoing and ever improving lag issues
-Some changes to the maps (Improved textures, less copy paste maybe)

I can't think of much else. I do really think all this will be addressed in the next patch. Let's hope it's not just wishful thinking.

I would definitely love to see all that! Im going to hope for it...The hamlet defense thing has me intrigued very much and it would def give people something to do. I'd also love some advanced jobs in the near future. Like gladiator can become paladin or fighter, marauder can become dark knight or corsair, pugilist thief or monk etc... i think thatd be pretty cool. Or you can choose to stay a gladiator ofcourse

I'm really hoping that they do something along those lines with the classes as well. I don't think we'll be seeing any of it until march, april, or even may though. As long as SE keeps up the updates and gives us some morsels of future plans as they go along, it'll be all good in tha hood.

Ya i agree all i need is the info on what to expect im already in it for the long haul lol. I think this would be the best way for SE to go about reworking the jobs without ******* people off. It gives you more choices too besides just leveling all jobs people will focus a little more since there is a goal and a choice to be made at the end.

At this point, I'm now really hoping it addresses the 30002 error that keeps disconnecting people. Right now I'm enjoying everything about the game as a noob, except for the fact that sometimes I simply can't play because after logging in five times and being booted within 10 minutes all five times, I just give up on the hopes of actually being able to achieve ANYTHING and do something else.

I'm doubtful, unfortunately, but I do hope it's something they address soon. It's ruining the game for me when 40% of the time that I try to play, I experience constant 30002 errors.

I also don't like the limit on guild leves. I did some last night, wanted to do more tonight and it's still saying there are no guild leves for the requested area, even though I'm almost positive it's been 24 hours.

It's 36 hours. Type /clock and it will tell you when it resets.

That would make sense, though it feels like 36 hours is an awfully long time when there's not much else to do. I mean, for me there's plenty to do as I still have to get started crafting (tried that tonight but after it took almost two hours to get to rank 3 carpentry because of the constant d/c I gave up), but it feels like 36 hours is a long time to have to wait until you can do more leves. It might not feel that way if there was anything to fight besides star marmots running around outside of town, but I don't feel like working on another class without leves available because without leves, there's no mob variety. I find it kind of strange, actually, that the mobs you fight in leves in an area can't be found except for in the leves. Would make sense to have more variety. I think that's what I want in a future patch! More monster variety in starting areas.

36 hours is to long I agree. I would like to see them shorten this time a little. Maybe 24 hours is better?

To be honest I'm glad when I'm out of leves because they bore me to death. I do think that we should be be able to do like 10/day though. There are many things being added in the near future for SP/fun so don't fret!

The next patch is a content patch. Assuming there will be adjustments is far-fetched.

I really hope that some of the quests, when added either in next patch or one coming soon, will need to be done in groups. That was always fun for me in FFXI, doing random quests for decent items, but to get them you had to hunt for something or had to defeat an NM that ranged from kinda hard to difficult. These would require a group and made for fun side things to do with anyone and made for great linkshell events.

More content of course is what we really need, but we need some activities that require teamwork as well. The leves just don't do it for everybody. They also can be done solo, so some people wouldn't bother with having a party to do it when they can just solo them.

We need someone *looks around* to make a poll asking how many quests are people expecting to be added

Soon as I heard the pc and ps3 release dates, I assumed new classes in March. I still believe that, mainly because they are already done and in game. Also, with the new sp boost, this game can now support a lvl cap increase. Since SE said they are working on making each class "special" I also expect some sort of class specific spells to be introduced; Probably acquired with guildmarks.

I hope they focus on the quality and not the quantity of quests.
I'm expecting to have some story involved in each one rather than just leves handed out by NPCs.

I mean how hard can making a leve be?

1.Add a selection of enemies to the list.
2.Go kill.

I wonder why there aren't literally endless amount of leves considering how simple they are.

Quests however are more complicated and I hope they take the time to make the writing as good as it was in XI and yes I do think the quest cut-scenes in XI are really good. I often enjoyed many quests more than the main storyline missions.

This. And by monsters, I don't mean wildlife. Right now every fighthing class could be called "hunter" or "exterminator" based on what they mainly kill.

Where are they located?

Do they all pop at the same time? Or one by one?

Do they run away? If so, where do they run? Also when, after they are the last monster in the group or when their HP is low?

I mean it's popular to diss on the leves for being simple but let's stay realistic for once.

In addition, there is nothing they can't do with the leve system. Right now leves are simple, but there's no reason to assume they can't make them incredibly complex and long if they wanted to. It's like a template which is hardly fleshed out to it's full potential right now. What makes it differ from a quest from technical standpoint is that it is repeatable, and possibly more phasing is used.

I don't know what to expect in the next patch, and speculation at this point isn't exactly healthy. We all know what we want, I'm pretty sure the devs do too. I just hope they don't rush things to appease people and then end up chasing everyone away again.

When they announce the changes and additions for the next patch, then I'll happily join in on speculation threads.

The thing I would like to see implemented most this update has got to be companies. According to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cW56J8Gc5A&feature=player_embedded, with companies we'll be seeing private housing, quests for LS, upgradeable ships and cannons, pirate attacks, and cake =P.
