Just bought FFXIV...Follow

Hello folks,

As the thread title shows I just bought FFXIV, however I cannot play it, not because of system requirements but, because of the "click and buy" junk.

I cannot select/create a character because I need to fill in clickandbuy details. This is holding me back because I don't have a crappy cellphone (hate those things). So anyone has an idea what I should do so that I can play the game?

Thanks!

You're gonna need a credit card, and some classes in how not to swear.

I have a CC, that isn't the problem.
The payment options are just unclear as ****. What ever happened to a normal payment option for CC like every other website/mmo-game? :o

Also if you think crappy is swearing, you might have to thicken your skin ;)

My bad, you need a clickandbuy account to actually pay... That is some poor choices there.
Crysta seems the only "legit" option to me. I regret buying the game already :<

You need to get your credit card info to a third party and then use that third party to "buy" subescription or crysta. Can't really remember it in detail since it was so long I did it.

If you had taken the time to actually look up the ifnormation for yourself you would have noticed this information is already available on other thread but we are used to crappy users.

Thanks, but I could just add crysta, +1 char (1299 crysta)
Free trial month (-1299 crysta)

So basically this is what I was looking for. It's still unclear as **** though :(

Still, thanks for your time!

I have no idea why Hugus is picking on you so much, (maybe you are RL friends just messing with each other), but yeah the crysta idea should work, even though i never bought any. I remember that setting up payment was a pain but since we don't have to actually pay for anything atm, it's still not a bad deal lol. So, don't give up on the game yet, you just might find it to be a fun game after all.

P.S. If you're stuck for a server, I suggest Melmond. It's not very crowded and there are some great ppl here. Enjoy the game :)

Ya all you have to do is select crysta for payment option when u buy the game. You do NOT need to add any crysta or use click and buy because your charge comes out to 0 crysta^^ Hehe :) ... Fast and easy way to get it up and running!

At the moment you shouldn't have to buy any Crysta. The game is totally free for the time being, so you shouldn't have to worry about dropping a bunch of money on it yet.

If you thought the payment was confusing, wait till you start playing!

j/k

After you finish up the opening quest, head over to http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/index.html and browse through the Play Guide section. Just glance through it and get familiar with the terminology and gist of the game.

Crysta is not required its just an option.
The reason for that is because they sell game cards with crysta loaded on them for people without a CC.

That universal game card website sells FFXIV time.
You do need a click and buy account or whatever, but you can enter your card in directly without buying crysta using that.

The "crysta" thing does make this unnecessarily complicated, adding an extra account to log in to to change your billing info is just lame.

Ditto, if I remember, I just put my cc info in and was good to go. Crysta was never come across and it just seemed like an option for people without a credit card. Could be wrong, but never used it or looked at it.

Ultimate Game Cards are the way to go man. No commitment like Click and Buy and they available at every CVS / 7/11 / major chain corner store.

Jesus, SE, Wakeup. You have customers trying very hard to give you their money, and you have such a convoluted system they can't figure out how to do it. How is this an acceptable part of your business model?

I dread the day I have to go back in and manage my account because I don't remember what I did to get it setup initially. All I remember is that it made no sense and after a few hours I eventually got to a point that I could play the game.

Providing customers an easy, streamlined method of payment should be the highest priority for any business. Instead it appears that you specifically spent lots of time trying to make it as confusing as possible.
