I think they're just putting in "filler" events to let us know when and what the events will be each year. Hopefully at some point when events can be a priority again, they will spruce them up into something great.
For those who don't know much about Japanese holidays, I'll explain this day. In Japan, on St. Valentine's Day girls show the boys how much they care for them. One month later White Day arrives, and this is when the boys show the girls how much they care about them.
So, in Eorzea it looks like these two events are back-to-back, rather than one month apart. The Valentione Day story was about Countess Arabelle de Valentione of Ishgard and how she expressed her love for her man. Now this Little Ladies' Day story is about how men express their love for their girls.
One of my favorite holidays personally, or one that I like the idea of anyway, since it's like a follow up holiday. I never lived in Japan, but I have Japanese parents, so they gave me candy for white day instead of the boys :P As a child I also enjoyed Children's day (which I think is supposed to be for boys?), and New Years (adults give money to children for luck). *Sigh* I miss being a kid and getting tons of free stuff every holiday.
I think it's sad though. I heard people don't celebrate White Day as much anymore and those that do usually just give gifts to their wife/girlfriends instead of like school mates and co-workers. Kind of like Valentine's Day in America I guess.
Also, I wish they would add a mail system soon so we can all mail each other fun, festive chocolates and stuff. Edited, Feb 15th 2011 2:57pm by Rekia
