Read the letter.

Quote:
We are also in the process of putting together a new workflow to handle the development of new quests and sidequests. Though we will begin releasing these in the next patch, it will be difficult to release a large number of them at once. It is certainly possible to continue developing quests until we reach a target number, and then release them simultaneously, but this would slow the rate at which this new content would become available. I prefer to release fewer quests regularly as part of the monthly patches instead. This may give the impression of less content per patch, but I'd like to try it this way for a span of about two months or so and see how it goes. At the same time, we'll gradually be implementing system-side changes related to quests as well, aimed at improving user-friendliness.

Now i might be wrong, but according to what Yoshi-P said there should've been 2 patch monthly, 1 about fixes and 1 about content... so i guess it was legitimate to expect at least a little amount of content in this one.

Isn't "next" relative to when you write (or announce) it?

The "next" patch would be 1.15b when I read that letter. He or his localization team should be more specific I think. Your quote only continues to confuse me.

No it wasn't. Yoshi CLEARLY said, there is gonna be 2 patches per month. One being Game fixes, one being Content. Sicne the first had game fixes...it was just obvious people would expect content for this one. But the month is not over yet, might get the "real" patch next week. At least I hope so.

Perhaps. It could also mean that plans had to change a bit in order to accommodate the mentioned changes in workflow in order to produce said content.

just logged into the games and the first thing I see is a message stating that their will be a 10 hour maintenance scheduled for Monday <1700 - 0300 PST>. Hopefully this is the real content patch promised.

I think everyone either intentionally overlooked, ignored, or disregarded something in the third paragraph of the Yoshi P letter:

Quote:
Patch 1.15a went live with all of the intended content (resulting in a bit of behest-induced fever on some forums, hehe), and the dev team is now on the next step in improving the game.

Perhaps Yoshi-P was of the opinion that Patch A was content and patch B is the game improvements.

I'm not saying I agree with that; In fact, I'm sure most will disagree. I'm just throwing it out there that perhaps, as Yoshida interpreted it, we got the content and now we're getting the fixes.

I don't expect that answer to make anyone happy, in fact I fully expect people to respond with "How could anyone think that was content?" or "There was no content, you're an idiot", etc etc (completely disregarding the fact that I'm interpreting what I though Yodhida meant, not saying what I think).

But I think we need to step back and consider that it is very possible that to Yoshi-P, what we got in patch A was his interpretation of "content".

I could be wrong. I'd like to be wrong. I'll know if I'm wrong in 11 days.

I wondered that myself. It could just be happenstance he uses content in this statement about 1.15a. The part on the dev team being on the next step could mean that the content is in and now they are off to fix bugs or whatever for the rest of the month. We will know what he meant sometime soon.
