So i was a long time FF11 player with 350+ days of playtime. I have heard and seen a lot of complaints about this game and certain aspects of it remind me of 11's NA release.

All in all the game seems alright, it lacks the depth that 11 had but its future remains to be seen.

My question to everyone here is:

what are the chances that SE will actually scrap this game? i'm getting to the point where im dedicating quite a lot of time and I can be patient for changes and improvements but would they ever just scrap it, as in not improve or add content.

Thoughts?

I doubt they would scrap the game at all.

My guess is they would condense servers down to a few and continue developing the game at a slower pace.

Seems to me however, population has picked up.

Like, in the thousands. In every corner of Gridania.

Way too much money has been put into this to scrap it. It won't turn into an APB situation...

Time will tell. but if they did turn around and scrap this game it would certainly be a sign of the SE Apocolypse. They need this game to turn into a winner, just look at their stocks.

I don't think it will be completely scrapped any time soon. As someone mentioned, they invested too much into this game and they need at least some money back.

With Yoshi-P, the game is heading in the right direction. Now the only thing that's left is the time needed to implement what's planned.

They didn't scrap XI in 2001 so they won't scrap XIV.

It's too big to fail! Like the Titanic! Or games based off of large-budget movies! Or the housing market!

SE scrapping a FF would be like playboy scrapping the magazine.

It'd also hurt the company incredibly for any plans of creating any future mmorpg.
