Heya,

after months of working on it during my free time, my new pet project is finally released, approved and available on BlackBerry App World. Eorzea's Guide is a new app that's been designed exclusively for Final Fantasy 14 gamers. Use it to get help on more than a thousand official synthesis recipes available in game or to keep in touch with Eorzea's news and world information while away from your computer.

Screenshots and information about the features offered by Eorzea’s Guide can be found on a new page I created on my site. If you own a BlackBerry and play Final Fantasy XIV, just search for “Eorzea” in your app store and give it a try. It’s entirely free :-).

Looks interesting. My Storm II 9550 may have a new shiny app soon. :)

Will this work on an older 8100 BlackBerry Pearl? Not the 3G one.
I'm upgrading as soon as my 3 year contract is up, but until then, this would be awesome to have if it works on it.

It works on older BlackBerry phones such as the 8900, as long as you have OS version 5 or 6 on it. From what I can see, unfortunately, this is not the case for the 8100. Sorry.

Port this to the iPhone4 and I will be a happy camper.

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and functionality of this app. I thank you for it. However, is it possible to have sort options or the ability to filter recipes according to level?

Heya,

version 1.3.1 is now in the app store. It includes bug fixes, more recipes and a levequest timer. You'll find a detailed change log below.

To AtryxEtair: thanks for the feedback :). The user interface does not have a control to sort by level, but, you can still do so using a special search parameter. Click on the filter button at the top and in the edit box, type an "l" followed by the level you want to see. For example, to only see level 21 recipes, you'd enter "l21". I know that's a bit geeky but it was a last minute addition. Hope it helps.

Version 1.3.1:
New recipes added. Now 1,305 official recipes available.
Added Levequest Timer in the World Status page.
Improved diagnostic messages when initialization fails because of memory access.
Name filter for recipes also filters name variants now.
Fixed recipe crystals not being displayed correctly in Landscape mode when only one material is needed.
Fixed language and display issues on older versions of OS 5 (builds 2xx to 5xx).
Fixed news not being downloaded properly on older BlackBerry phones.

Hello!

version 1.4 has been released and is now available in the app store! It comes with an updated receipe database as well as a full German translation. It's still completely free so if you have a Blackberry, give it a try :).
