I registered the Final Fantasy XIII code almost a year ago. (2010/05)

The code was accepted and it appears on my points page.
I just got a buddy pass the other day, so I have a legit copy of Final Fantasy XIV.
Everytime I make a new character (multiple deletes to try and solve this) there is no "Asuran Armguards" in my inventory.

I have contacted SE about this, but seeing as how today is Sunday, I wont hear from them until tomorrow.

Any reason why it's not working?

I have made a couple of new characters just messing around, and didn't get any Hermes Shoes on them (which you get for having a FFXI account or something). Could be a related problem. Maybe they just stopped giving them away after a certain period in time. I really can't say.

You need to register the code you are given at the points page in your SE account (the page in which you set up ffxiv payment settings).

I think you need to remake the character afterwards. Pretty sure.

Yeah, it must be an issue with the current system, or they just stopped handing them out.

Once you register FFXIII it gives you another code, which you must enter before you make your character.
You can not claim this item once your character is made. The code you used was a registration code but not an item code. Once its registered theres a page you need to visit that gives you a -new- code.

As for FFXI, it only gives you the hermes if your account is -active- with a content ID paid for at the time you make your FFXIV character. If your account is not active you will not get the item.

If that's true, about the extra code needed AFTER inputting the FFXIII code, this was almost a year ago.
I'm guessing, if I didn't catch said code back then, I'm SoL? As if I try to use it again, it says I've already used it.

Visit this page and review your code, then enter it where you signed up for FFXIV.

EDIT: that's for the PS3 version which I hope you were smart enough to get. The 360 version looked like HD Youtube.

Wow, thank you very much. That worked flawlessly.
"Campaign Code - Asuran Armguards Feb. 20, 2011"

Thank you, SE has never been blunt about what to do, where to go, etc (been playing FFXI since PS2 NA Launch)
This worked, again, thank you very much.

Yeah SE is absolutely terrible about relaying vital information to its customers. Glad it worked for you.
Remember that "3D Verified" whatever crap for FFXI? SE is not good with customer relations :D

That's Visa/Mastercard stuff - not strictly exclusive to POL's use.

For what it's worth, the Asuran Armguards are not any good past rank 10. And because so many people complained how tough it is to rank up, they made it stupidly easy to rank up to 23. SOoo, in a nutshell, you will wear your asuran armguards for about 30-60 minutes. The only starting 'item' that is any good in the long run is Hermes' Shoes.
