Hi guys. I started playing last night on this server and started city as U'lahd? something like that lol. Anyhow, I have a question and hopefully my fellow Besaidian can help.

-Is there anyway I can unbind some keys when using a keyboard? Or is this something SE will not allow it again..? In FFXI, I can bind any keys on my keyboard using the compact keyboard on ffxi config. However, on FFXIV, I dont see that option.

Thanks in advance guys :)

Glad to be the first person to welcome you to the game and server, hope you enjoy it.

In regards to key binding is not really my thing as I dont even have 1 macro but I don't think it's possible to unbind those already in place by thr game, your best option would be to look on the general forum (using the search engine) and if not to post one yourself as this is a general question (which can be posted therE) and you'll have the largest number of users/possible replies.

Thank you for the warm welcome :) I did posted there right, but I guess I found my solution. Using an xbox 360 controller is better than keyboard right now :).. So I'll be running around later after work and do some quest. Please holla if you see me wondering around clueless lol. Name is Arc Angel :).. good day everyone

By bind do you mean assign a key to certain function? You can assign keys by opening the menu and selecting the config option. In the config option there is a menu with tabs to move to different key groups hit the "tab" key to move along the different tabs to move back a tab hit "shift & tab" keys.

One of the menus has alot of keys on it so you need to scroll down to see all the options. There are some keys that you cannot reassign thou, I believe 1~0 and the number pad keys are not assignable but not exactly sure.

Sorry I don't remember off-hand what the name of the menu is after config, I can check later when I get home from work.

Moving keys is not very user-friendly thou. For instance if a key is already assigned a function then you have to change it first before you assign that key. An example of this would be if "G" is assigned to go from active/passive modes and you want "G" to open the gear menu then you have to reassign the active/passive key first to an open key, then the "G" key will be open to assign. (I know in FF11 was so much simpler cause if you assigned a key it would just swap places automatically.

Contact myself, Mudd Vader, Diamierte Falconpunch, or Kolbey Trifel when you're in game and we can get you set up with the Novice Tower linkshell. It's specifically for newbie players. If you decide once you've learned and gotten higher in rank to move on with our group, then you can ask for membership in the Aes Sedai Tower. If you decide to go to another linkshell, that's cool too. It's up to you!
