I am suprised that I havent seen any threads pop up about this. Are you happy with the changes? Does no one care, because they became used to carrying 3 weapons? Or have the changes made you die a little inside?

Too soon for me to tell, but less wear can only be a good thing. It also further encourages the use of properly ranked gear, so that's two bonuses in my book.

I usually solo my leves. Pre-Patch by the time I get done with the 8th one, I was at around 35-45% durability (starting from 100%) if I only did leves and no behests.

Today I participated in 2 FULL behests as well as my 8 leves and my weapon durability ended at 80%.

I like it :>

I'm still for srcapping this system unless they make the npc prices reasonable with 100% fix and add jewelry.

adding jewelry to the list of repairable items via NPC would make it spot on perfect for me.
i was never against gear wear since MMOs need ways for virtual currency to dissapear and i dont believe this game has many ways for that to happen so far.

I don't understand why someone would wish to use a NPC when another PC can repair it for you much cheaper...(And sell you jewlery much cheaper also)

If you want your virtual currency to disappear, Might I suggest donation????

I don't think they would have outright removed durability (so far), but this seems like a step in the "let's gradually phase out the durability system" direction. If they don't remove it completely, I can see possible gear/weapons/tools (AF maybe?) that have a special aspect that prevents any wear and tear. Seriously, whats the use of magic if you can't make a magic sword that never needs sharpening?

Magic also wears out overtime, next we are gonna get Soul Stone for recharging magic!

Depends on the creator of the story the magic is in. I have read some fantasy books in which some ancient magics were so powerful, that they were eternal.

Besides if the Twelve create a weapon in their own image, I assume being gods and all, they can make things that will never lose durability.

Just take our underwear for example. It is made out of indestructible material. :D

That's a diffirent thing entirely. Our underwear is simply cursed. Once you put it on, you can never again take it off. Unless you equip another cursed underwear piece ^.~ No magic involved there, just pure evil.

Disappear out of the economy smarty pants, so as to alleviate inflation (i.e., too much money in the economy will cause prices to go up).

Oh, I don't know....maybe because it's getting **** near impossible to find someone to fix things?

On Wutai, Limsa and Gardinia are completely DEAD, and Ul'duh isn't exactly hopping. I was lucky yesterday and found a nice person to repair my Cesti when I shouted, but it's becoming harder and harder.

I'm digging the changes to the durability system so far. I like that it rewards for wearing the correct type of armor for class and takes much less damage(almost none) when both rank and class criteria are met.

Still needs more tweaks, but a step in the right direction, imo.

The best luck I've had getting repaired is when I'm done for the night, I sit in front the Adventurers guild in any city I am in. Then just minimize the game for the night, and everything is usually repaired by time I am ready to start playing again. Also, try to find an LS that you mesh with and it will speed your repair searching a lot.

I also tend to put high rewards for repairs to entice people to look if they are crafters.

I am loving the durability increase so far!

Prepatch: party grind for a couple hours, weapon 100% -> 0%
Now: same party grind, weapon 100% -> 74%

Using a proper weapon for my rank, of course. ^_~

I am one happy camper. Now I won't feel so pressed to take up carpentry when I start leveling up my CON again! Gear repair has never been much of an issue for me (maybe my server is just busy?), but it will also be nice to not have to run around in mis-matched gear as often 'cause my crafting shoes or something are in need of fixing.

HaHa, just having fun with ya.

Seriously, I think that the biggest gil sink will happen with the "turn on" of the chocobos and the airships. There has to be a better way to travel.

However, I do think that SE goofed when they made the crafting system. I think that they underestimated that it would take like 500 brass rings to move up levels, therby flood the market, thereby lower the price. I mean, seriously, the NPC sells the brass ring for what, 60k (probally not that much, but you get the idea) and I can barely sell them for 2500 on my server.

What I would like to see as a gil sink would be to be able to purchase those guild marks to use. I think that ppl would go for it, yes??

I know that buying anima has been raised before, so the only other option is the one that I mentioned before and that is the chocobos and airships.

Because people seem to only start *****-threads ^.^

I am very happy with the change. My Wind/Fire Brands lasted maybe 45min of Dob grinding pre-patch .... now they are lasting for quite awhile!

Thanks SE!

I also love the new system, but also think jewelry should be added to the list of repairable items.
