Tonight I dinged r46 pgl and thought since I had anima to burn that I'd try this mission/fight out. After 3 tries I decided to turn in for the night. Anyone out there that has solo'd this and has advice on how to do so? Seemed like a good challenge. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

(yes I realize I can get my LS friends to help, and I probably will ... but I sometimes like a good solo challenge)

Easy, just lure the dumb Garleans into the targeting circle when it flashes red, and watch as they go BOOM.

Ignore the targeting system. Kill the "dummy" mobs first (they go down fast). Then your main mob will start running after a few hits. Follow him. End of r46 quest. Be sure to avoid the targeting system which is quite easy to do, don't stand in the big circle. ;)

I personally would have tried fighting the mobs without using the blue circle if I had enough hp to do so. Being as archer, I only had 1140 hp total. I was taking around 200/hit, so fighting them as I normally would wasn't an option for me. So I had to use the blue circle thing. Try it many ways and see which one works the best for you!

Okay did this tonight and found it painfully easy, must've been really tired last night or something. Anywho here is a rundown of my strat to solo as r46 pgl (and thanks for the replies all):

1) At Camp Revenant Cast pro/shell before entering the instance
2) Once in, run up to the mobs (they won't attack) and waited for them to run away
3) Towards then end of them running away cast shock spikes
4) Once the fight starts use featherfoot2 and start fighting the melee guy
5) Run away once the circle turns red (I almost managed to get 2 of them in 1 shot with this, but the guy I was fighting just barely got out of range ... archer died here)
6) Finish off the the guy you were fighting
7) Start in on the other guy ... he runs away fast.

Overall, pretty disappointing for a final fight. However, it did seem to open the story up at the end ... hopefully they take it somewhere good.

Fear not. People have .DAT mined the game and found atleast 3 more story quests after this one. It also sounds like they get better each time after this. Now if only they would raise the rank cap.....
