Ok we all know what's wrong with the game. But what cool ideas do you have to make it unbelievably good and different from the norm?

Doesn't matter if it's not technically viable or how long it will take to implement. Just throw the suggestion out there. Maybe a variation of that idea will spawn from it.

Idea 1: – Battle System
Though I wasn't a fan of FFXIII I really loved the fight animations, being able to launch opponents into the air then time the Melee to keep the mob flying high was cool. Maybe have certain jobs in FFXIV that would have the ability to launch the mobs then chains from melee to keep it up. I think that would make the battle system really engaging.

Idea 2: Quest missions

Real time quests missions happening in the world where they repeat after a few days hours minutes. All the relevant animations would happen so you would see a village getting attacked. For this to work maybe have some kind of auto party feature when people are close to the vicinity of the quest mission.

Have more ideas but think that’s a good starter for ten.

So let me get this straight--you're saying we can think of ideas ... that might improve the game? And share them on on a public message board?

You just blew my mind.

Add a linear story with lots of cutscenes to guide you through the game. Give regular xp and have boss fights. Allow people who have already progressed up to that point to join in on the battles. Add side quests and mini games along the way. Reorganize the current areas in a way that allows you to progress from area to area by level range, reduce how spread out all the content is. Rearrange content as well so there is a mix of solo mobs and group mobs, so players can solo level but have a reason to randomly join up with other adventurers in the field. Perhaps even add a feature that auto groups / invites players in your sight who are similar rank and fighting mobs nearby

Random enhancements:
add fancy camera scripts for things like entering battle, combos, kills, levelup so it is more reminiscent of other final fantasies

The world changing events.

That was an idea that me and my friends got with ffxi.

Let say that in April the developers make this announcement:

For the duration of May (one month after the announcement) the city of Gridania will maintain a siege on Ul'dah.

- Players from both factions will join the efforts of your respective nation.
- Players from Limnsa Lominisa could join the efforts of either side.

And basically the outcome of the event will determinate if Gridania conquers Ul'dah or not.

This of course doesn't need to involve cities with players only, the attack/defense could involve any kingdom in the game, or it could be used to expand a kingdom in to another zone (like what kahzam use to be to Windurst or Norg to Bastock)

I think this kind of changing world could be really interesting, since the power to change the very structure of the game world will in the hands of the players.

I would like to see more random buildings in the world. you know mabey you run into an old haunted castel. It could be 4 or 5 levels each being a puzzle that you must compleat befor you get to the next level. Unrest in EQ and EQ2 are good examples of this. Large caves with tuns of branching caverns that you can get lost in. real tresher that you can find.

FFXI was full of this stuff I just don't know why FFXIV is not. Sure made the game feel alive and made for hours of fun a few times days of fun. The first time I went into Unrest in EQ I was stuck in there for 2 days with my brother and a friend of ours. I really miss this kind of stuff in mmos.

Wow. Your first post and you recieved excellent ratings. Great job.

Anyway, as far as the topic is concerned, I believe after several tweaks with the enire game in general, brilliantly placed content such as lower level Notorious Monsters would immensely help.

This would be great and all, were the 3 states not in an alliance against the Garleans. You could apply it to them however, and have Garlean occupation of Hamlets, camps and cities based off of siege results sort of like Campaign in FFXI. Might make the world feel a little less dead, and given how easy it is to travel around it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience considering they'd probably get pushed out of the city pretty quickly.
