How many leve notorious monsters are there? Is it just Tarbh Uisge?

Is the leve "Wanted: Mammoth and Master' a faction leve? Which leves are required as a prerequisite in order for this to be offered?

Thank you.

http://ffxiv.zam.com/en/moblist.html?name=&rank_min=&rank_max=&zone=&aggro=&race=&role=14&element=&order_by=

This list shows all (known) mobs with the Impossible to Gauge tag. Some are quest NMs, some roaming NMs and some Leve NMs.

There are three: Tarbh (Ayzerma Shield), Drake and Alpha Wolf (both Broken Blade), they are all in 3rd mission in their own respective Special Mission, which means you need to do 1st + 2nd and have 400 faction point to open 3rd. Tarbh is in Bloodshore, Drake is in Broken Water and Wolf in Treespeak. All of them are easy and you can do with 4-5 people with 1 tank 1 healer + 2-3 dps. Tarbh can drop Buffalo Horn but will not drop Bloody Lance/Bardiche Head like Great Buffalo, Rune drop is random and linking leve does not increase the chance (had a leve that 5 people linked and end up nobody got rune, another with 4 people linked and 3 got rune one got none). Leve NM will not enrage, but there is a timer for the leve. If you fail you can keep retry each reset until you complete it, without having to spend faction credit for new leve.

I posted the mini-guide I made for my Linkshell forum here on the Zam Wiki

http://ffxiv.zam.com/wiki/Notorious_Monsters

Probably some more information that could be added to it, but it covers the basics. Hope it helps

you sure you don't have to spend the points for it again if you fail it? I failed UP, Up and Away because I ran to far from the objective and it did not reset next leve rest. I had to spend another 100 points to get it.

Little updates on your guide, if it is yours?! Sorry didn't follow if its your guide, or if you just posted the link.

But The Dodore Minions can't drop the Dodore Wing, only Dodore itself drops them.
Then you forgot the Woolen Sleeves(red) from the Goblin Braggados, which are needed for the Dodore Doublet.

Other than that. Uraeus spawns at nighttime only. Buffalo, Goblin, and Elder Mosshorn only spawn at daytime.
The Goblin has 2x goblin Bouncer with him. Haven't checked if anything else is missing.

Khornette's post and the guide are both very accurate and informative.

Just to add some information; we have found after doing about half a dozen of tier 3 faction leves that certain runes have higher affinities of dropping from specific faction leve pathways.

The following is a list of runes (listed as their respective equipment) we have gotten from the tier 3 special missions:

Bloody Scales - Buccaneer's boots, Buccaneer's sash, Harl. Cap
Tarbh Uisge - Buccaneer's shirt, Templar Hauby, Harl. Acton
Wolfsbane - no rune drops yet

Edit: It would be nice if we could eventually compile a more detailed list of rune drops from other people's experiences since there isn't much info out there regarding this yet.

Basically its this^^

Tarbh Uisge drops all Runestones for Body pieces + random belt pieces.
Bloody Scales drops all Runestonss for Head pieces + random belt pieces.
Wolfsbane drops all Runestones for Leg/feet pieces(not enough confirmed information on this) + random belt pieces.

We have never seen a head or leg/feet piece drop from Tarb, while we never saw a body piece drop from Bloody Scales or Wolfsbane and according to all the people I know from other shells on our servers who did Leve NMs, it was the same for them.

Can anyone confirm that if you fail to beat any of these Factions, that you can do it again next reset without having to spend 400 points again?

Thank you for the information. Rate up ^_^

I did write it up myself, but this was like 2 months ago when NMs were still new and not 100% of information known. I just wanted to compile something for my LS so we could figure out when and how we were going to try and take them on. I just copy pasted and formatted it for the wiki so there would be something on ZAM for people to read through.

I added the information you posted, plus the information on your other thread on NM incapactiations. I added a section for Credits at the bottom and put you down for your help.

I've never heard of you not being able to. AFAIK they operate like normal leves, and should reset in the usual way.

just to make sure, for tarbh uisge, are left/right horns taken from its own view, or in the direction from looking at it?

Its own view. Check the battle damage log if you're unsure, if your skill is supposed to incapacitate X part, it will clearly say "Your 'Garbage Thrust' hits Moohlah's left horn for 9001 damage", if it says "Your 'Garbage Thrust' hits Moohlah for 9001 damage from the rear" then you're doing it wrong.
