Back to XIV.

Am I the only one who thinks it's sad they're not going to do anything to the look of Gridania?

Way I understood it from one of the recent letters, Yoshi plans to completely redo Gridania.

Didn't you read the official translation on the previous page of this thread?

I don't see how the official translation regarding removing some of the invisible walls has anything to do with his post about remaking the current regions.

It seems due to your bias you have come to the assumption that the official translation somehow indicates that nothing will be done about the regions (just like you told us, of course) while it has nothing to do with Yoshida's other post (in the thread regarding The Black Shroud, nonetheless) where he states that while removing the invisible walls is their first priority at this point, he can see what the players mean and while the workload is huge, he is attempting to remake the regions little by little as time goes on, and mostly after the invisible wall problem has been taken care of.

I don't blame you for missing his post since it hasn't been translated officially yet, but you come into conclusions based on irrelevant information and considering you seem to be the leaning towards the negative side on everything you say, you might benefit from researching a bit more before coming into conclusions.

Hello all NA friends,

It's late night in Japan but it seems our Yoshi-P is not sleep yet.
1 hr ago he begins posting comments directly on official forum, Japanese parts.

Here is a list of his post: http://goo.gl/BoM9z
[EDIT] the quick link seems broken due to some address translation on official forum, you can try this address

and click the link of "すべての投稿を表示"

Here is some simple abstraction:
1. Thanks for your opinion.

2. The map WILL be totally redesigned especially for BLACK SHROUD. But before redesign, map team will try to relief the moving stress by tuning map collision rules.

3. About jump, his thinking is about to make characters "do not have to bound on earth so much". The considered implementation are: emotion, additional action during moving, and (as a result) passing some little obstacle. He also noticed that many people does not like WoW style "Jump Spamming" and complains about the Jump should belong to DRG for the sake of FinalFantasy tradition. He will take this opinion into consideration.

4. PvP. After the combat system being fixed he will begin to consider how to bring a PvP that matches the FF14 world. BUT THERE WILL BE NO PK.

5. Target circling system: Very more PAD user complains about it, he will make additional modification on next patch.

[EDIT]
Sorry for my hype to add some feeling not very exactly. About the item2, Yoshi-P actually says:
"Thanks you all to discuss the problem of the map. I feel its a crisis as you all. I can promise you it is going the way toward redesign, although its a heavy working load. Since you all know it costs many times to completely fix that, please give me some time. For the sake, the map collision relief will run in parallel with totally fix."

Since the thread title he replied is: "WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE USELESSLY WIDE COPY-PASTE MAP?" and almost everyone complaint about Black Shroud, that made me believe Yoshi-P is speaking toward copy-paste map issue and Black Shroud issue.

Yep, and I'm sure Tokyo potentially becoming ground zero won't affect this game at all. Better to just ignore it and talk about the PS3 release.
Are you aware of what term 'ground zero' means? I'll give you a hint: It doesn't mean 'a place affected badly by something that happened far away.'

It was originally used to designate the center of the two atomic blasts over Japan that ended World War 2, I believe. Since there's a chance they may yet experience another atomic blast at ********** the term is not... without precedent.

I think he is pointing out that Tokyo would not be ground zero for any explosion at the nuclear plant since "ground zero" is supposed to be the location of the blast. I think is what he meant.

This http://www.carloslabs.com/projects/200712B/GroundZero.html" rel="external nofollow" title="distancecalculator.globefeed.com/Japan_Distance_Result.asp?fromplace=********************************************************************************************************************************************************************** says it's 274.09km (148.1 miles) between ********* and Tokyo.

An interesting [link=site" title="http://www.carloslabs.com/projects/200712B/GroundZero.html">site" rel="external nofollow">http://www.carloslabs.com/projects/200712B/GroundZero.html">site for choosing a location and seeing what kind of radius of destruction of assorted explosions. Put Hirono in as the search and the power plant is just NE of there.

Oh. It's interesting to me because I live like 50 or so miles from DC and there's always talk of what would happen here (where I live) if a nuclear device were set off there.
