Post more hardware specs than that.

However, I'm going to preemptively say that no, it will not run FFXIV at all. If you want to run FFXIV on a laptop, you're looking at spending at least $1000 (725 euros) to get it going at minimal settings. Laptop hardware is inherently weaker based on the desire to shrink the architecture and voltage of the system components to make it viable as a mobile machine.

Unless it's a "gaming" laptop made in the past 12 months or so, it probably won't run very well. My friend tried to run it on the lowest settings on his laptop: the character looked like a stick figure ice skating around and the text was so blurry you couldn't read a single word

it's hard to find a laptop that will run anything recent if you don't know how to look.

unfortunatley laptops are hard to upgrade, so what you buy your usually stuck with. the laptops stores like bestbuy and the like will sell you, is usually an overpriced piece of trash.

if you want a good laptop and know what specs to look for, i suggest using ebay, or finding a website that builds custom laptops to your specifications.

as to your original question, it probably won't, and at best very poorly will run the game. stay away from those stores mentioned above when buying a laptop for gaming.

Nope. Just as I answered in the other thread, intel graphics chips suck *** and are not intended for gaming.

#7ViKtoricus, Posted: Mar 10 2011 at 11:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am currently playing FFXIV on my laptop. Ul'Dah and Cassiopeia Hollow runs VERY SMOOTH at default graphics.

These are the specs:

-4 GB RAM.

-AMD Athlon II X2 processor P 320 (2.1 GigaHertz)

-ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Up to 1919 MB HyperMemory. (Is this the video card? I'm not 100% sure.)

My laptop has 4 GB memory, but the AMD processor killed it. It can be very laggy at times, especially before the update several weeks ago.
I have trouble running the game smoothly on a laptop with an i7-720QM and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870. I'm calling BS on you running it smoothly on that laptop, unless by "default graphics" you mean "lowest possible graphics at 640x480".

Like I said, it only runs it smoothly in Ul'Dah and Cassiopeia Hollow. On other places, it is either laggy, very laggy, or ridiculously laggy.

And by default graphics, I meant the graphics that they currently are WITHOUT changing ANYTHING the very first moment I started playing the game. I run it on window mode, not full screen, but I don't know if that even makes a difference.
