To show the world that gamers care about what happens globally I challenge all players to donate their monthly fee (which has been suspended for now) to the Red Cross or send a text to 90999 and $10. will go to the Red Cross. We are a global community and SE is located in Japan. We have been enjoying the Final Fantasy series for years. This would be a great way to show our respects for the Japanese community.

To be more specific as to what you'll need to do should you want to donate via text, you'll need to text REDCROSS to 90999 and it will make a $10 donation. If you want more information regarding it, the link to the American Red Cross page concerning the Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami can be found here.

The Red Cross is good, but if you want to make a direct impact try these are the same people who sent out boxes full of essential items when New Orleans was hit by Katrina. You can even track where the box you donate to goes, so you'll be able to tell if your donation helped someone affected by the earthquake in Japan or the resulting tsunami in other locations. is what your donation buys. Each box costs £590, imagine how many boxes the people affected by this disaster are going to require and you can see why I recommend this charity who are out there now (and as this forum is mostly American, they have delivered to 3 locations in the US so maybe Karma will come into play!).
A strange obsession, mine. But better to be addicted to smartphones and gismos than cocaine or ***, I suppose. Well, I don’t know, the result is the same after all, very little sleep, great expense and horrific mess everywhere.

Glad to see people from different parts of the world coming to the aid of a country in need. This is humanity in its best form.

^ This. All of it.

I think it's something that most all of us can get behind, without regards to white-knighting or trolling.

I had to do this. Japanese culture has affected my life in such a way that I would be ashamed in myself if I didn't help out. Just wish I can do more. I am going to Yokohama Japan in June for vacation. Maybe I can turn it into a more charitable trip. =)
