Cancelling with ClickandbuyFollow

#1 Mar 14 2011 at 9:01 AM Rating: Decent
Been trying to cancel my XIV payment plan with them, tried to log in, wrong password. Go through the recovery steps, says it's sent me an e-mail with a temp password, been over an hour and nothing. So it says to call them, but this place is in England, don't really feel like paying international fees, especially since I have no clue what their customer support is like.

Anyone else ever deal with them or have this problem? They have no chat support which is ridiculous. I know I can cancel through the SE account, but will that cancel through Clickandbuy too?

First of all, there isnt any payment, so there's absolutely nothing to worry about. You're not paying for the game currently or likely for a long long time to go.

Second of all, all the game servers and login things involving FFXIV and FFXI are down. Which means that you cannot at any point change your payment information or cancel anything.

But seeing as there are no monthly fees to speak off, why bother? And if you really want to get it out of the way, what's the harm in waiting a week or two? There's no charges in the meantime, and no money being deducted at any time.

The Square-Enix login and all that is working just fine, you can update any information there. Clickandbuy is also an entirely different company based in England, so that works just fine too. I just haven't logged into XIV for quite awhile and figured I'd cancel this while I remembered to do it. I'm fully aware they won't charge for awhile, but I'm the forgetful type with things like this and one day it'll just show up on my bill, and oh crap.

Is there actually a payment plan? I thought clickandbuy accounts were just to buy crysta when you needed it. Either way I haven't set up a clickandbuy account yet. I'm still hoping that they'll look at the payment options we have now and say "what were we thinking?" and add a better option. I've been able to play by just selecting crysta as my payment type, but I haven't dealt with clickandbuy yet, as all I've heard is bad things about them so far.

Are you sure you're using the right username?

But even you can't work this out through automatic means, I believe Clickandbuy starts charging a monthly "inactivity fee" if you just walk away. You'll have to take care of this sooner or later.

Maintenance Fee (per month)

After 12 months of the ClickandBuy account being inactive we will charge a maintenance fee given that there is credit on your account

1.50 USD

It may not apply if you have a zero balance and don't owe anyone anything, but I still don't trust it.

Ya, I know I'm using the right user name since it asks me my security question, which I've answered properly. That's when it says, an e-mail has been sent to your ***@gmail.com account with a temp. password. I've checked my spam folder and everything, hasn't been an e-mail all day. I've noticed on the US website there's a 1-877 which should be toll free, might look into that if I can't get it resolved online.

Dang it! Now I'm going to have to go through and double check and make sure that isn't still active. I'm pretty sure the card I used to pay has since expired so it shouldn't be a problem but who knows.. They may start a tab for you if you ever decided to play again and you'd have to pay off what you owe first.

I finally got my password reset, took them 24 hours to send me a temp. password. Once you're in though, it's actually quite easy canceling FFXIV through them. Like I've said, I know it's free, but they still have all my billing information and it's easy to forget.
