I'm trying to learn which mob is weak to what type of attacks. For example, are raptors weak to blunt or pierce?

I can't find a listing or any details regarding "it".

Is it not available?

Anybody know? Please help. Thx.

Don't think many tested it out due to the fact attributes are unbalanced currently, if I were to guess they generally have the same weaknesses from XI:

Bones = Blunt/Holy (Astral) Magic, Fire
Raptors = Water, neutral
Bats = Piercing, Holy (Astral).

However with how unbalanced things are it's a bit hard to get a lock onto weaknesses because you generally do the same damage regardless player rank vs monster rank.

Am I the only one who's bummed out that Cure doesn't damage the undead in FFXIV?

I don't think Wights are really weak to blunt attack and fire. That is based on my countless time doing the camp Horizion Leve as a Con and Pug and Mrd. I can confirm the following:

Gnats are really weak to Stone, Bogy are weak to fire.

It doesn't?

Then, no, you're not the only one. T_T;

I know that my Archer always did plenty more dps on Wights then my Pug friend. It's been while but I specifically remember him being 'bummed out' that his damage wasn't so good on them, listening to him in voice chat was amusing though lol
take that with a grain of salt though, I didn't parse, I just distinctly remember him complaining about that fact whenever we fought them.

While I can't say about weapon resistances, you can see what elemental affinity a mob is in our mob DB, then use the elemental "wheel" to base your elemental attacks.

So as a MAR is this info relevant to me in any way since I basically have to do the basic slash 80% of the time to build tp?

First off, thanks everyone for responding to my question.

From my experiences, flying mobs seem to be easier to kill with my higher piercing weapons. At least that is my impression.

I hear that raptors are weak to piercing as well.

If I remember correctly, I believe cob/doblyns, dodos, and some flying mobs are weak to pierce, but other than that, I'm not sure. Perusing the clss threads may yield some answers; I got the information I have going through the LNC threads (assuming I remembered correctly); Lancers, of course, do a large amount of piercing damage.

Look at weapon threads for each class too; I believe some of the info I got was part of a "this _____ is more % piercing, so I'm doing a lot more damage to _____ but not as much to ____" kind of thread.

Just a thought!

I found this info from a different thread (quoted by theredchaser).

Muscle-bound - weak to slashing
Armor-types - weak to piercing
Unknown - weak to blunt (Raptors are weak to blunt)

I'm getting the impression that most mobs are weak to piercing and slashing, that is why LNC, so far, has such a big advantage when it comes to damages.
