Indeed. One would have to be pretty twisted to delete an awesome character, quit, & then come back to do it over on a new character. Quite twisted...

Bit strange so far. Uploading the patch at around 30kb/s, downloading at as little as 2kb/s 0kb/s at times. Have people found a way to turn off their upload or something? ~.~

Hopefully this will atleast fix that 20524 error i got upon having finished the previous patch. Havent been able to play since.

Aren't they ninja-patch items like Electrum Scepter and stuff? Remember the events? Christmas clothes, Valentine and Little Lady Day whatever stuff are all already patched during November or weeks before the actual event, with the recipes accidentally released before Items unlocked.

I'm genuinely curious here.. what will you do when you have every job to rank 50?
Considering your signature image I think you'd make a great poster child for why MMOs need end-game right out of the box.

This happened to me like 5 times in a row last night.

I was making lantern shields and iron ingots/plates for them, and I would crash every time I used Resolution, and then tried to hit bold. Took me a few crashes and a a few mat losses before I saw the pattern.
Glad they fixed it so fast.

Don't worry I've been downloading it for 2 hours and not even 50%... shame as the last 2 patches actuall DL'd quite quick compared to the first few months.

I'll never understand why people feel they have to be rude to get some sort of point across.

Technically, it's still a patch. Or a hotfix. I don't think fixing one thing that isn't working warrants the title of a version update. That, at least to me, implies that it's a new version of the game, which it isn't.

That wasn't rude, it was short and to the point. They flat out said it's a minor fix and won't change the current patch number because as you said, it's a hotfix. The name version update is most likely a tab that they click before posting a message on lodestone. It ensures limited interaction to post information is required. If you only read the title, yes you may assume that it's an actual version update, if you READ the notes it quite solidly states it is not and thus makes your post 100% meaningless.... Sorry (does my sorry make this reply less rude?)

I swear I'm not judging you by the amount of time you play, but your answer leads me to wonder why exactly you still play this game? It's not like the gameplay is varied all that much between job classes, that's one of the chief complaints about the game so far. If the only thing holding you to this game is that you don't have every job to rank 50, and the job classes are so similar they'd might as well be the same, what's the point of going for max rank on all jobs then?

I have friends that live in Japan who don't speak english very well, XIV has international servers and all version of the game are updated at the same pace, unlike other games where the English version usuallys lags behind the Japanese or Korean versions, which is a plus.

Only other option is the play free to play games over VPN or proxy since most other MMOS have regional servers, and most Japanaese servers block foreign IPs. Sifting through piles of Korean free to play MMOs, lets not even go there...

Not to mention the OCD.

How much time in game does it take to get 8 classes to 50? I can't even think of the grindfest that would take.

I think this just drives home the fact that SE needs to get on the ball and start working on end game soon or people will start leaving due to there being literally nothing left to do.
