It would seem all is not forgotten on SE's part. Since I've been following the dev tracker, I've realized how much they have on their plates. Sometimes I forget that they really are rebuilding this thing from the ground up.

Anywho, seems they have Hamlet Defense on the back burner like everything else. Still, would be interesting to he what new concepts the new team has dreamed up.

Checked into the status of hamlet defense battles for you all. While the details/concept won't be exactly the same after shifting to the new team, there is something similar planned. The current plan is to implement settlements for this purpose in a future patch.

Hey Sorel, while I don't have any addition details to add at the moment, I don't think the comment that Rukkirii posted went so far as to say current hamlets won't be utilized at all. I would just take her comment at its face value and hang tight until further information is posted in the future.

Is it just me, or does "Hamlet Defense" not sound fun at all? I was never excited by the name. It seems about as enjoyable as "Parley"!

True, the name isn't as nifty as calling it Futterwacken or something, but in concept it seems to be the same as Campaign in XI. (For the uninitiated, basically an enemy force advances randomly on a fixed location and NPCs and PCs fend them off.)

That would be a fun addition, especially if it offers SP.

I remember early on in the main storyline quests where they had you parley.. "..Parley? I like that word, like from Pirates of the.. ..wait, that's it?" Thanks for hurting my perception of the word, SE.

Anyway, when I think of activities at hamlets, one concern is how far away they are. They'd have to give us a faster way to get there. Even if that wasn't a concern, the areas themselves don't seem interesting to me, so it's hard to imagine enjoying it there.

I must've missed the initial announcement for this "Hamlet Defense" because this is the first I've heard of it.

While I did enjoy Campaign in XI it never came off as a party based event. With that said, I could swear I read somewhere that they were trying to get people into parties more. I would think if they made it like Campaign it would go against that mindset seeing as there are plenty of options already for one to solo.

If they were to introduce it I would find it odd if it was a knockoff of Campaign.

At least it sounds more morally justifiable than the original name, "Claudius Defence."

I'm glad people still grasp at straws.
