I have to askFollow

So, i haven't played in a couple months, and as i'm sure this question gets asked frequently, the answer obviously changes just as often. So here goes, how is the game now?

Like i said, i haven't played since right before the first side-quest patch was implemented (which was reportedly incredibly underwhelming). I'm wondering how this game feels now, really from all aspects. I'll list off some of my most pressing concerns.

-Have animations gotten any better?
-Does it feel like there's more to do on the journey to 50 than the grind/leve grind?
-Is combat more fluid now, does it seem like a complete system?
-How is the endgame, currently? Is it more than 3 NM's to be repeatedly killed?
-When you're playing, does it feel worth it, as opposed to like a job?
-Are sidequests, well, less of a joke?

Now, a few disclaimers here. I'm not trying to bash the game, i understand that people do enjoy this game for what it is. But, it is well known that these are some of the main problems that people have/had with the game, myself included. Also, i am aware of the situation in japan and how that caused a very large setback, so i'm not expecting a whole lot, just wanting to see where the game has progressed since i left. If you can answer any of my questions, or any additional ones you might feel are equally important, please do so, and thanks in advance.

-Magic animations are bigger. that's about it.
-there are a few quests to do in between gridning and leves. nothing substantial, but they do have some nice rewards if levelling up for the first time.
-No, but they're doing a complete rehaul soon.
-3 Major NMs, 3 Factions (joke), and 20~ or so baby ones which are fun to do.
-Well, for the longest time I didn't, but my MRD looks steeze as **** now, so yeah, I'm enjoying it.
-No. they're still pretty lol.

from what i've read, a lot of people who stopped playing at launch came back, but really didn't find the changes that substantial. chances are you're in the same boat, so i'd wait if were you.

Very very little actually changed.

And well, the things that did (i.e. max party 8 members, behest limited to 8, way too many icons and status gadgets) turned out to be less than desirable.

The whole fact they're trying to compromise for what they did with a hand full of NM's isnt really a good thing. SE is slowly getting more out of touch with us.

Or in this case, the opposite.

It is beyond me how a 150 man dev team can work this slow.

Same animations. But they have gotten bigger, so you can see them better. Of course, the mobs are bigger, too.

The side quests now offer SP/XP. And while the new, lower level NMs don't offer SP, they do offer some good drops, and a much needed break from grinding/leves. Also, behests are now offered every 30 minutes.

I'm not sure what you mean by "fluid." But the combat system is pretty much the same. The big changes to the combat system apparently haven't come yet.

Well, it's actually 5 World NMs (Uraeus, Great Buffalo, Haughtpox Bloatbelly, Dodore, and Elder Mosshorn). And there are 3 Faction NMs. And the last patch added about 20 NMs between levels 30 and 48 or so. I've been soloing them on my 50 Marauder, and having a good time with it. Some of the higher level NMs are pretty tough to solo (for a Marauder, at least). But if you can solo them at 50, then it's probably not really end-game.

This is a pretty subjective question. I'm having fun. But I'd still like to see more content.

Depends on which sidequests you're talking about. There are now multiple sidequests that are for level 30, 35, and 45. Depending on your level, those are no joke. I haven't completed them yet, but I'm hoping they're a decent challenge.

Like I said, I'm having fun. But if you're not sure, there's no harm in waiting for more content and more changes before you come back. The longer you wait, the more content will be added, and the more refined the battle system will be. While we'd love to have you in the game with us, if you can wait a little while before coming back, the changes will be more substantial when you arrive.

Regardless, hope to see you back eventually. :D
