So you have guild tasks. But they are all rank 1 and 10 and give almost no real rewards. Further they require items meaning that people who stay in ul'dah with a populated market ward will have a serious advantage, pulling people away from the other cities and making the game feel more empty.
There is also no explanation from devs about whether there will be higher level ones or not.

Next you have "new quests". So far i've only found 1 in ul'dah, and it has nothing to do with companies. Has anyone found new ones? (im looking as a 50mrd btw)

Next you have the egg quests. No explanation at all about how to get the other egg hats. Doing the quest in all 3 cities has resulted in nothing.

Then you have companies. They create this detailed page with pretty pics and cool storyline stuff, and then have almost -nothing- in game. I don't think any of the new quests involve them since i checked the NPCs that had the original company quests.

So overall, it seems like there is nothing really new, and a serious lack of information. Does this bother anyone?

Nah, don't really care anymore to be honest. All I'm looking forward to is the battle patch and if that uber fails I'm just going to take a break until PS3 launch or possibly, forever.

They outright told us that it would be a small patch, with only 30% of what it was originally suppose to be. The rest was shifted over to 1.17.

Haven't thoroughly searched, but ran into a r20 side-quest in LL for 10k gil. Another one where you run around town to 5 npcs, this time doing an emote to them. Also a r30 in Grid for 20 lightning crystals which made me smile as a former main weaver many moons ago. That's it so far.

As for the guild tasks, hopefully there are higher rank ones with better rewards. If not(or not yet), I'd call it another addition that isn't exactly intended for people looking for end-game, but more for new players like many of the side-quests. Which needs to be done to fill the game in with more stuff to do from the start(Though that's not gonna make many current players happy).

Edit-
r25 quest in LL for 50 crab balls also...
And the one in Osarion's thread ...

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results."

This hasn't varied from past updates, including 1.17 itself. The game is all fluff (even though there isn't much fluff to be had) - NMs repopping every few minutes like normal mobs tells you all you need to know about how casual the game is.

Of course, despite deciding to be ultra-casual, they've failed to actually pull in casual players, so no one is playing.

the guild tasks are bugged or at least the one i did was.

i accepted the r10 one reward was 5k gil for a pinch of river sand.. easy enough. turned the sand in got 500sp.. big whoop there. some crying mustard(sp?) and not a single gil. had 81k on me before turn in and after. this was on a new alt of course.

I believe the alchemist said something like "We have plenty of rewards lined up for you, the most interesting probably the 5,000 gil, but you never know."

Aka, 5k gil is an example payment. I'm pretty sure I got SP and shards (100) out of all guild tasks I did tonight, personally.

You're clearly not the person in your sig if you only have 81k on ANY of your characters.

Somewhat incorrect. They stated that 70% of the planned content would be in 1.17, but the remaining excluded 30% being pushed into 1.17a. Basically, always expect any of the lettered patches to be small. You will see more content and adjustments in the main series numbered patches. 1.18 would be the next major patch (hopefully we hear more soon about that).

My main gripe is they didn't centralise the Guild board over all the AG's, so I still have to go to LL to get Blacksmith quests. It's bad enough I can't get any locals over Rank 25 in Ul'dah (but I can in Gridania)?

I think that's the point. Currently there's too much of an incentive to just stay in Ul'dah, they probably want us to spread out.

Hopefully whenever Airships arrive they'll help with that.

This is good for two reasons:

1- If the guild is in another city it makes perfect sense that the Guild is goona try and use the people on that city instead of looking for labour from further away.

2- Gameplay wise this might just help to ressuscitate both Gridania and Limsa and even in the future maintain some population in Uldah when Ishtar does get released.

I can understand that (though I find it a little frustrating). It would be a lot easier if travel between cities was more accessible (i.e Chocobos or Airships), as everyone has to keep an eye on their Anima due to it being the only feasible transportation method at the moment - but who wants to flog that dead horse. :s

I agree with both of you.
All of this would be less of an issue if we already had other means of transportation.

It's not a big update as it wasn't supposed to be one. They are just implementing stuff that wasn't done in time for 1.17 which was released earlier due to the earthquake.

As someone stated, this is the 30% of the patch they didn't have time to finish last time.

Hey, they're clearly hinting at Cid (The master of those in the Ironworks) in a new quest this update. Now if the next update can actually give him some screen time, I'll be happy. :)
