Best way to accumulate Wind Shards?Follow

Hey guys I am in need of some suggestions on what the most effective method is to farm wind shards? I am almost out of both shards & crystals (might have a few lightning clusters left but even they are almost depleted). I prefer to farm my own supplies instead of buying them in the wards but short of killing puks/dodos in the LL area (average only 200 or so per hour if I'm lucky) I don't know what else to do? I'm grinding my armorer right now at very good pace but its all going to come to screeching halt once I run out of shards (if anyone is around rank 31, iron celata visors have been killer sp all the way to 34 and I'm still getting 500+ per synth).

Any ideas?

I have no idea if it will beat your rate of gain but I fished for my wind shards when I couldn't be bothered to mine or farm them. I hung out in LL and could pull in quite a few without having to seek out mobs/nodes.

I hear that fishing is indeed a very good option but if you're not into that you can always farm fly mobs which will usually be easy to kill.

You can get these in all three cities so no matter where u are you can get at them.

Buy a bunch of crystals and break into shards... better turnaround for your time and you're still making them yourself...

Farming wise, maybe some of these guild errand thingies? Some of them offer stacks of shards.

Come to the dark side & buy some shards. It is the most efficient way. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

I would most likely buy the shards or put that task on hold and let my stock build back up. If I had a class in range to slaughter sheep/puks/dodos & get good SP I'd consider that option, but most likely I'd go the lazy route. Especially if I was determined to hit a goal I've set for myself. That's when shard & mat sellers really make their gil off me, when I "have to" hit that mark and that's the only thing on my mind.

Rofl...I have been resisting these urges for weeks now! You are absolutely right though, it would be the fastest way to keep going but I'm trying to save all the money I can because I don't sell much and I want to have a decent bank roll for supplies after the crafting system is overhauled ^^ (I only have 5-6 million gil). I might take up fishing I guess, that's my 2nd lowest class so it couldn't hurt to see what the returns are & rank it up a little in the process. There's a reason its still only rank 3 for me though, I am terrible at it and don't really have fun while doing it either =(

fish and alchemy.

Do you have lightning shards? If you do you can fish up some tiger cod and turn them into wind shards using alchemy. It can be a bit time consuming but you can pull tiger cod right off the dock in LL and then make wind shards 12 at a time. If you get kelp you can turn those into more lightning shards (using lightning shards).

If you killed any amount of puks and didn't otherwise use them you probably have a fair number of lightning shards.
