Just wondering what is the preferred method of time wasting inbetween leve/behest cooldowns? Personally I spend hours reading guides etc to make sure my Alchemy is running at optimal efficiency, and also poring over NM's drops that I might want.

Just wondered if people had found interesting things to do while the leves taunt us with their 36 hour cooldowns (which isn't that bad considering you can do 8 battle and 8 crafting, usually brings me within a few hours of reset).

That^^

...and when you're out of mats/shards go farm them so you can get back to levelling up your crafts!

Another idea is to knock out sidequests too, never know what new ones might be added that could potentially require older ones to be completed first.

Don't forget to take up a gathering profession that goes with your main craft. I have learned the hard way that it gets much harder to rank up when you get in the 30s if you can't farm your own mats (unless you're willing to blow all your gil on them in the wards).

I craft and gather for the most part during cooldown time. Can't wait until SE puts in more content to distract us with while we wait for reset!

It changes. For a good while it was always behests & crafting in between. Now I'm often crafting things that don't stack well and I need to get rid of so it's an either/or thing with that. Sit in town & craft or run the behest, break, behest cycle. Could always go on a gathering run too(preferably fishing).

If I have some to do, I'd spend time knocking out main story, class & side quests as well. Other times I get into NM hunting mood and do that for a while.

If you have nothing else to grind, you can play any number of low-impact Flash games while FFXIV is still running in the background.

If it has to be FFXIV-related, you could always LARP a leve you create for yourself. You can do anything!

Heh that is a good point, but currently I can have FFXIV open, WoW open and Portal 2 open all on max settings with no slowdown, im kinda scared of my own PC, as it may one day rise up and gain control...

Usually I'm mining or grinding LNC up with some friends. Rarely I'll be leveling something else or just messing around (A expedition through mor dhona was one of our things, you know, the side with tons of headrip ogres around? Good times).
