I was wondering what the basic rules are for these. I am trying to obtain the Templar Set for my GLA and I have finished the first two tiers waiting for the Mammoth mission to pop. After the reset though I still only have those two options I know they cost faction points the first two were 100 each. How much does the third tier cost, someone told me 400 to do the missions, I have another 378 or something so I should have enough, unless it is 400 just for the third tier alone. Could some please clear this up for me, and also how it works I know I open a chest at the end and "Could" receive a runestone as a reward. Are the chances pretty good or am I better off saving what faction points I have now. Also could the people in my party receive the stone and not me or am I the only one able to since I will start the mission. Thanks for the help.

It's 400 to get the T3 Faction. Once you have done the two pre-reqs you can just keep buying the T3 Faction leve over and over (as long as you have the points).

Word of Warning: 0/2 Prepare for much disappointment.

The chances are pretty low, but I've heard linking them increases the drop rate. And from what I've noticed, only the person who pulled/linked have a chance at getting a rune.

Also, for the record, the Templar Head and Body aren't all that stellar. The Vintage Haubergeon has the same buffs, and more Defense, and the Head is just... lol.

For tanking, I've noticed its better to stick with Cuirass/Celata, and for DPS use VintageHaub/Tricorne or Kokoo/Elmo(which is the new fad).

thanks for the responses guys. yea i'm definitely making my GLA to tank so I should probably stick with what you said. i wonder why they make it so hard to get those items even though it's r49 and the regular r50 gear is still better stat wise. i guess it really is just for show. oh well. thanks again

Oh whoa. I just realized I was in a raptor party with you a couple days ago xD

But yeah, SE really dropped the ball on some of the NM gear. Probably something from the hardcoreVScasual argument about accessibility to 1337 gear.

It's also worth mentioning that the Buffalo Horn(s) can drop from this Faction Leve (if you managed to break them) so it's up to you if you want to Leve link it or do each Leve separately. I don't know if it has been proven that linking the leve increases the chance of a rune or if it's an in-game myth.

It's up to you to weigh out the Pros and Cons. Link the Leve for a (possible) increased chance of a rune or do the Leves separately as a group and sell any Horns that drop to supplement people who did not get a rune from this faction.

Yea don't get your hopes up, I am currently 0-5 on stones from my faction leves. I've pretty much given up all hope that I will ever get one...at this point I wouldn't even care if it was mage gear which is pretty much useless to me, I just want "something". Pretty lame, but oh well...on the bright side at least I still have something to look forward to ^^

I'm 2/4 on runestone drops. The two times I have gotten the runestones, 1 of those times was linked with 4 others, and we all got drops, the other time was just solo, but I got the drop. The two times I have not gotten a drop, one was linked and the other solo.

So really no conclussive evidence anyway.

Also don't not do the faction quests just because there are currently better options out there. These items are really hard to get, and you can bet that SE has plans in the future to make them upgradeable. Even with the materia system who is to say that this gear can receive special buffs?

Horn and Hand doesn't have any special NMs. Keep in mind on those you can only have 1000 faction credits at a time. Every reset I check Horn and hand for either torn coif, ripped hauby, or scarred kite shield, since those items can fetch a decent price in market wards. Torn Coif for example makes the best evasion head piece in the game.

Good Luck

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul
