in ffxi; when i last played it anyway, you could only go 3 months without using your account before it was frozen or deleted or whatever. that was years ago.
what i want to know is does the same apply for ffxiv? i'm set to be deploying to afghanistan. and want to know if my character will still be here when i get back. i have no problem continuing to pay for it to keep it there, just want to know how they handle unused accounts.
I remember this, but I believe what they ended up doing is saving character profiles to the PlayOnline IDs and you just needed your proper info/CD Key to recover your character. I don't think it would really serve them any purpose to delete characters due to inactivity, since you'd just **** off an already angry playerbase, not to mention complaints surrounding the fact that you played the game and put the time in, if they delete your character they're effectively stealing your money. So no, probably not. I imagine they may inactivate things but probably would require nothing more than CC info + CD Key on account.
