Where/How to grind?Follow

Hey I am just wonder I've been doing behest and I am kind of bored with that. So I was wondering if there are any places currently where you can grind and get decent SP (250-350 per kill). Or if there was a general theory behind grinding (i.e. grinding off mobs 8-9 levels higher than you).

Either solo or a small party.

You generally want to find mobs 10 ranks above you to max the SP multiplier. Kind of hard to give you a suggestion when you don't state what rank you are! ;-)

Quick guide:

1~10: Any Rank 1 Behest, not sure if you have to do more than one of these, 2 max.

10~17: Any Rank 10 Behest, repeat until rank 17.

17~23: Rank 20 Behest at Horizon, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat.

23~33: Look for the rank 30 leves "Necrologos: Adamantine Wills" "Corpus Adamance" "Necrologos: Levinshower" and the rank 20 leve at Horizon "The Devilet Inside". Try to find 8 man groups who have all these, and abort the leves before you finish them (before killing the final mob). You can also do Nanawa Behests at 23~30.

33~50: Continue with those same 30s, adjusting star settings as necessary, behest is mostly dead to you now pick up group wise. At rank 33 you unlock Broken Water leves. Leve cancel until you have Dunesfolk for Dinner, Necrologos: Ranine Reveries, and All Cracked Up. So that's 7 leves you have in a cancelling rotation every reset now. The Devilet Inside can be tossed at rank 35 onward, unless you want to keep it to rank up lower classes.

At rank 42~ you can supplement in between leves with 6 man Raptors in Boulder Downs (North of the Everlakes aetheryte).

Also Efts east of Treespeak work well in the 30~37 range, and the Behest there is rank 40, and always empty (or should be!) so your party can do those every 30 minutes, too.

Fastest way to 50.

Then Hippocerf's in Coerthas are your friend! Travel west from Camp Glory (aiming for the bridge) and you travel through a ravine full of them. They start about rank 35 if I remember so you really want a party of at least 4/5 people (starting mid twenties) to ensure speedy kills for maximum SP returns.

Why do you want to abort before finishing them?

It's up to you. If you abort before finishing then you keep the leve to try again on the next reset (just talk to the counter - don't choose another leve and your failed/aborted leves are re-activated). The trade off is you make (next to) no money off the leve and gain no Faction Points, so decide what is best for yourself.

Sure, but using leves as a source of income won't get you very far, and you can still do 1~2 extra leves every reset outside of the 6~7 you have in aborting rotation. Not to mention anytime you get doubles of a leve you've been aborting, you can complete it, then swap it for the 2nd copy, and you get the faction credits and money from completing it.

At 25 you can start killing the Wandering Wights in Mun-Tuy cellars. They're rank 35, spawn slowly (Because they're quest mobs) but there are plenty of them. They'll give you 450 sp or so outside of a leve per kill at 25, and can take you to 30 if you're patient enough.

You can totally grind in groups on them, but they're best fought with ranged classes (many AoE). Japanese players seem to use it as a XP camp, but I haven't seen any american on Lindblum except me grinding on them.

Those aren't easy kills, though.
