Am I alone in thinking the answer is 43?

I'm looking at people's sigs and see literally no-one with jobs at R43. I know they are looking to rework huge areas of the game (job system etc...) but at 43 we should get the next 'set' of leves obviously pending a raise in the rank limits and new leve areas... or does the determination to get to 50 kick in and drive you on?

Anyone else think stopping at 43 is a more wise choice???

Sheer determination to get to 50. But an r50 camp and leves would be awesome.

There are also the skills past r43 to look forward to.

Personally, I'm still grinding to get the ancient magic nukes (even if they're disappointing) and the r48 support spells. Until I get them, I'm not going to stop just yet.

40 is half of the SP needed to get to 50. If you were to stop at any point before 50, that would be the best idea, because the curve goes nuts after that.

People want 50 because it's 50, and there's good stuff at 50.

I've been leveling horizontally since release just to get a little sample of everything before the major changes come. Thankfully SE has provided me with ample time to savor everything...

this definatley needs to be re-worked if its going to take double the time it took me to get 40 levels for the last 10. i don't see them changing this until at least ps3 release so we dont get to far ahead.

who knows though, maybe the axe'ing of fatigue will make this go alot quicker than it already does.

I haven't played in over a month though. I'm waiting on some content to keep me busy.

So long - and thanks for all the fish!

It doesn't really work that way due to the multiplier versus star rating. Theoretically you can due Dunesfolk for Dinner until about rank 56 on 5 star and still max SP on hounds (1120 I think), same way you can still to Levinshower to rank 43 on 5 stars and max SP on rams (which is 640 I believe). So long as there is a 10 level rank difference between you and the target mobs the leve is still good a valid.

Yes, it really DOES work that way. The reason Dunesfolk for Dinner specifically gives so much SP is that the wolves are what you call "party monsters", and have a 2.0x SP multiplier on them. Many other monsters also have this in the wild, such as Giant Crabs, Skeletons, Peistes, Raptors, and more. It's just a GREAT levequest because of that specific point.

Leve linking is just a really good way of getting SP, no matter what level you are and what leve you're doing. Dunesfolk for Dinner is just amazing because of the SP modifier on the wolves.

Yeah, I should have pointed out those SP figures are when you maximize a level link (1+3). I didn't know Giant Crabs had the same multiplier though - I'll have to remember that.

The skills do seem the most significant thing, I recently took up carpentry as it appears to have a great R50 skill but my mining which I love will probably stop at 43...

What are the best R50 skills out there?

Bloodbath II and Chaos Thrust (when used correctly) are brilliant. I can get 900 HP back with Bloodbath II on Maim in some circumstances. Personally though, I think MRD 48 skill Defender II and LNC 48 skill Comrade in Arms II are probably some of the most useful that I currently have.

Bloodletter (ARC 48) is another I am really looking forward to getting.

Posting to flex a 43 /flex. See we do exist! But it really should be a 50 by now, so i'll shut up and get back to work on that. Still have victimize II and simian thrash to get.
