So I returned after like 3mths, to see what FFXIV have to offer.

Server: Gysahl

Things I notice after 2 weeks....

1) Grid and LL is like so deserted :(

2) Some familiar faces still running around

3) SP for DoL is ok, better the 3 mths back. For DoH have not try out.

4) Started with DoW, SP seems ok pre rank 24 <--- But LSmates claim after rank 23 everything goes to **** again (>...< unless you do behest. <-- (-_- great from Coblyns to behest for SP now.

So other then NM, and a little SP boost up to certain rank, what did I miss out?

Isn't this true for all servers? I honestly can't remember if SE is attempting to do anything about this, but it seems to be an issue. If they were to pull off a miracle and somehow get a lot of old players back or even *gasp* new players, they'd all lag out and disconnect from spamming Ul'dah.

The SP changes seem to have only eased up on lower rank players. The grind is still a grind. Other than that you missed out on some holiday stuff, a handful of sidequests and some spiffy new 3-D graphics to let you know when your group is full. ******* amazing amirite?

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

I think there is a thread o oficial forums (dont ask me where exactly) where there is mention of removing the 8 local/regionals restrictions per reset allowing people to do 3 battleleves for each and every camp in Eorzea, this would be good in spreading out the population our of broken water and Thanalan in general.

Disclamer: This is not confirmed and I might even be mistaken about the existance of such a post!

LL has a population, not as big as Uldah but it's there. As for leves it has always been about getting a group and leve-linking. This makes leveling much much quicker. As far as what you've missed I'd say about 3 months of leveling crafts and battle classes and 3 months of helping your LS grow and prosper.

I've been sticking to Gridania these last few weeks, as the crafting leves are a good fit for what I'm trying to raise these days. The place isn't nearly as deserted as it sounds, but it is nothing like Uldah. Perhaps this is unique to my server, though.

I might be crazy, but I like the DoW/DoM rank 40 leves in Grid much better than the ones in Uldah.

Interesting... is that solo or in a group?

Oh and OP, side-quests and reduced maximum partysize to 8, fixed sp curve in general, sp in relation to your rank not sure if that would fall in the three months of your away time. You should be able to find patch notes available on the lodestone or somewhere there is a big patch due in a week or two, the devs have been quite communicative and open about whats happening.

I only play solo, my LS is now empty except for myself, and I haven't really had any interest to join shout groups or Ul'dah "exploit" SPing.

Lots of Toads and Boars in Grid's leves. They're pretty good SP mobs, and they give skins that my Tanner turns into hide and vamps for SP and profit.

I think one of my favourite leve for SP is Necrologos: The Fallen. Bunch of Toxic Flytraps on "wrong" beam of lights, they give like 570 sp each (come in pack of 2, often get 5 packs, so that's 5700 sp right there. Not bad for a solo leve), and ends with a Peiste, which is always a fun fight. Pugilist 44 > Peiste 59, apparently.

Its a game rule exploit. Easily rectified, if only sp is given in 1 large chunk if you compete the leve.

But that will open another can of worms. Like what if the player DC halfway through? He gets nothing.

Its beyond grey zone. More like 100% darkside. But if you dont do it, linking leves will be a whole lot harder.

And leveling will be a whole lot harder.

Crystal bots; they're low-level, starter-gear Alchemists that buy the fish from a shop and craft-bot them into crystals.
