Hello again, all fans of FINAL FANTASY XIV!
Today’s letter marks the eleventh entry in the series, which is still going strong thanks to your support. As always, I’ll endeavor to keep you right up to date, so keep watching this space!
As promised, on the details of auto-attack, the lodestone crew have not been able to embed a video of this yet but I wanted to keep the information flowing to you our loyal fans as soon as details are ready. Version update 1.18 will see auto-attack implemented and is due for roll out on 23rd June (later than originally intended and I'l have to look into that). You will also see new quests added leading into the primal fight with Ifrit as well as other primals making an appearance! Defeat him and you will have completed the first stage in becoming a Summoner!!!
In our efforts to reduce effort, reward monotony you will see a revamped battle regimen system in which greater effort produces greater reward. Battle regimen effects will double making a significant improvement in the debuffs and damage dealt to an enemy. As well as some brand new and very interesting effects to discover.
Also as promised 1.18 will see levequest balancing go into full swing, starting with revisions around rewards. As for crafting and gathering, we’re tweaking existing recipes and adding brand-new ones for crafter gear ahead of the summer. I’m pleased to say we’ve concluded our feasibility study for the Materia crafting system, and will soon hammer out the details for the UI and start working on the data.
The shiny new job system promised is also ready for release along with the quests required to unlock them. The following table shows which skills and ranks you will require to take up the role of your favourite Final Fantasy job!
And that about does it for this letter. For next time, I’m planning to write all about our progress on Materia, and give you the details of our plans for alternative travel including airships and Chocobos!
