Absolutely horrendous system. Everything about the leves, the fatigue, everything, it seems SO unneccesary. Even DISPITE FFXI's need for a party to even level, this game seems SO much slower and painful to rank up..

Now granted, I only pick this game up a little while ago, about a week to be exact, and im at a 22 Archer.. now I've heard much about these strategies for RIDICULOUS SP, for unbelievably quick ranking up, like this Dunesfolk phenomenon etc.. now considering my level, can somebody PLEASE set me in the right direction, so that I can start getting the hang of all this(What seems like)ridiculous crap, and not just sitting in Ul'dah with my finger in my **** wondering, what now?

Basically im asking. what is the trick. Or more so... the STRATEGY people have forged for ranking up, like leve linking etc. give me the step by step instructions. Baby me. I'm not educated.

EDIT: Very sorry if this isnt the correct board.

No offense, but am I the only one that thinks this attitude is that of someone that should not play MMO's?

Nothing like playing a Sandbox genre only to request the most linear path to the end... (o.O)

....maybe I shouldn't have bashed the game? I don't recall using foul language at all in my post. I am sorry if I offended you. I literally just need to get my head out of my **** and need help getting things really going. That's literally all...

You just picked this game up? Really?

Put the game down and walk away from the computer. That is the best advice I can give you.

Seeing as how the community hasnt changed much at all from FFXI, or from any MMO in that case, I was just about thinking the same exact thing. Thank you.

To the OP. I think the best strategy I can think of in helping you make SP quicker would be to find a group of two or three people and start linking leves and maxing your GA. It does seem a little tough when you are used to the SP levels from FFXI (and I was pre-abysea). After a few days when you can get 4 links on a leve several times you will start seeing your SP rise and you will be 33 in no time. At this point you will be able to use the fabled Dunesfolk abandon recipe - but not for long, the patch may change all this.

I don't think the community in general has any problem with helping by answering questions. You're coming right out and asking Baby me...I really wouldn't expect anyone to receive a response without some degree of sarcasm.

Given your original post, you seem to have made your initial judgement regarding the game:

I gather from your assessment that you don't enjoy the game. My advice is to not play it. I apologize if my responses are blunt, but I'm simply answering your inquiry with the best possible response I can provide.

So this guy, we'll call him Kiki, goes to hang out at a bar. Only, he hates this bar. Doesn't like the people, the bartenders suck, the drinks are watered down. It's too loud and there's no enjoyment to be had.

But Kiki likes to hang out there...and even chime in on conversations now and again. Even if only to complain about the state of the bar he's sitting in.

See where I'm going with this...?

A little advice from someone on his way down around here.

On Zam, there's two types of "smart people." The ones who really are smart and will come along and help from time to time like Edy. And then there's the ones who like to "level up" off of new people, and put you down for more rate ups. That would be Ryneguy.

If you can accept this, you will do fine here. If you think rewarding thugs is distasteful, I would suggest other fan sites where moderators are the ones to decide if you're actually trolling or not. Over here, it's up to a public rating system where people stand to benefit by making you look like a fool when all you really wanted was some help.

Had the question been an actual question, and not a blanket "How do I do it fastest/easiest?", the OP could have been provided a better answer. No one is attempting to make the OP look like a fool, at least I'm not. But I appreciate your effort to cast me in a negative light.

OP, if you want to progress via rank/skill/level...I suggest using the methods provided in the game. This includes Guildleve's, Leve Linking, grinding, Behest, and general Skill Up groups. I don't know of any "phenomenon's" and don't make any effort to seek them out. It might benefit you if you actually enjoyed the methods of play I've described as they are provided by Square-Enix, but if you don't enjoy them...feel free to find another system that works to your advantage. I see no issue with the system as it is, I actually prefer most of the systems as they are. Some more variety would be nice...which is on it's way based on Letter's from the Producer.

And what MMO in world is there where this is not always the question? Maybe I'll play that one for awhile...

The whole OP approach to supposedly ask for help reeks of trolling!!

Hes been playing fow ***** long week and he already has archer over 20, **** thats so slow? What the ****? He even states that in comparison to FFXI this is slow? I never played FXI post wings of the Godess so I know things are a bit different but I remember taking me the best part of a year to get THF to 75 and a few sub jobs to 38, 8 months in FFXIV and I'm capped at two classes and a lot of them at around 30.

This statement just told me that he should go back to Hello Kitty online or something. Is the really the kind of player you would want in you server/Linkshell Meh?

On anotehr note, it seems that lattely all you do is argue with people and bring out the Karma/rate system ... who cares??????

I know you're on this whole "Woe is me!" kick because you lost your sage status, but there is a very good reason why you lost it. You acted like an unbelievably arrogant know-it-all in the summoner thread, completely trashed an entire GROUP of MMO classes, and then when at least 6-7 people all came in and gave you specific examples to prove you wrong, you completely ignored them and went on acting childish. The community didn't try to make you look like a fool, you made yourself look like a fool.

Now then, that's not to say you're ALWAYS a fool, as I've found many of your posts interesting or informative, and when I have, I rate them up. It's pretty common sense with these forums. Act like an arrogant jerk, or make a post that's overly angry and bitter, get rated down. Post some constructive, useful information, or tell a good story, or say something witty, and get rated up.

Yes, people abuse the system. Heck, I've done it in the past. But for the most part it balances itself out... if you can be at least SOMEWHAT mature when posting...

Man, if you can't see I torched my Sage status on purpose, I should have been selling you swampland in Florida. It meant nothing to me. I kept posting over and over when everyone was hating on me, and I'm still doing it. It's a fast-track road to the bottom and I'm cruising full speed ahead!
