[NA] Linking Character Data to Forum Profiles

We would like to announce a new function enabling players to link character data to their forum profiles. This feature will go live as part of the FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum maintenance scheduled for June 28, 2011.

At present, players are required to use a Square Enix ID when logging into the forums. Characters on the service account associated with this Square Enix ID will now be displayed in forum profiles. Players with more than one character registered to their account may select which character to link.

After logging into the forums following the maintenance, players will be taken to the Profile Settings screen and asked to choose an active character. Forum posts cannot be made until a character has been selected.

Forum profiles will now display the following:
・Character name
・World name
・Up to three classes and ranks of a player's choosing
* The above information cannot be hidden.

Players will retain forum handles.

hehehe, finally people won't be hiding behind a fake name, however they CAN hide behind their mule :P I like this. But if people hide behind a mule does that make them an automatic jackass? :)

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

Well, at least this maintenance suggests that SE won't be scrapping FFXIV soon...

No. They are releasing new content within two weeks. They aren't scrapping this. People who like to do nothing but complain, and bring down the game, and the gaming community, come up with these ideas, and then you read the forum thread and believe it. Let them form the game to the way we want it, then draw your opinions. And, that first step to developing XIV to our liking is just around the corner, then you can draw from that if they are scrapping it or not.

I'm pretty aware of this; I'm playing since Open Beta indeed (Umo Heima - Gysahl World). My question was just rhetorical. Anyways it's good to see your warning post for unwary readers, thank you^^ Rated it up btw :)
